The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
Did some travelling today on Google earth and I found the house, here it is, apologies for the small size but photobucket won't let me store images above 800pix.
I didn't use the co-ordinates instead I just followed the road around from Honolulu.

Nice image. The guesthouse is marked in the wrong spot, however. The guesthouse is adjacent to the water, close to where the tennis courts are marked. The building that is marked "guest house" is actually the "gate house", or caretaker's house.

This is kind of related to this thread. I happened to catch China Doll (1.3) on TV today and they showed an unusual location, I'm not sure whether it's actually on the Anderson estate or not. I could picture it being being in the back of the main house though, under the tree cover. In the show Magnum, Higgins, and the girl are shown at the front of the house on the driveway, then walking through this location and ending up going through the door of Higgins' study.
I guess I don't really expect anyone to know whether this is on the Anderson estate or not, but being a Magnum P.I. fan I just wonder about these things.
Also, I don't remember the gate house ever being used in the show and I've always wondered why.

I've wondered about that scene as well. It's definitely not the Anderson Estate, though. The estate doesn't have any brick work like what is seen in that shot. Plus, you never see that brick, or steps, again in the show.
It might be the same place where they filmed for Mai Ling's uncle's house, with the outdoor garden, but that's just a WAG.

I found these pictures of the estate taken in 2005.Some lucky people actually get on the grounds.
I've been to the estate 3 or 4 times.last in 2004.I've never noticed the picnic area. It's defined by pavers and what appears to be shells or rocks.
Here is the link.

From what I can determine....HAB is..Hawaii Association of the Blind..Which may explain the dogs.
I found this short report on the picnic.

and from that web page I found an interview with Mike Post.

Very cool, another Robin Masters charity function!
And what's this? A guide bunny?
There's a cat there too, I wonder if those two were present to train the dogs to be used to different prey - err, animals I mean.
A quote from the second link: "There’s tennis court in there and then there is a whole huge area to do your barbeque with electricity and everything..." I wonder if that electricity was put in for filming the show.
