Concerning the car ID... months ago I put it on the IMCDb but forgot to post the results here. The verdict is a 1939 LaSalle Touring Sedan, or to be more exact, a 1939 LaSalle 4 door Touring Sedan series 50.

When Rick runs the plates, he says they are registered to a 38 Cadillac. But it’s clearly not, as this is a 38 Cadillac:

My question with the ending is, couldn't the cops just simply go back to the Fountainbleu to arrest the sisters?

I always interpreted their “We’re going to be away for a long, long time” as a wink, wink, nudge, nudge telling TM they weren’t going back to the Fountainbleu, they already had their escape plan in action.

Also, someone posted that Hillerman looked good in the light-colored suit, and that he hadn't worn it in other episodes? Or something to that effect. He wore a light suit later, at the end of Letter to a Duchess...I'm still working through this season, so I can't speak to other times.

Er... not a fan of beige suits on anyone, haha. Best suit of the series is Magnum's white 1936 outfit, omg.

That suit was amazing. I remember Higgins wearing a light powder-blue suit early on in "The Curse of the King Kamehameha Club", but that was pretty much the only time we saw him in that color.

He had a powder blue KKC blazer that he sometimes wore. He also had it on in "Beauty Knows No Pain" too. But I think the pants were a more normal color, hahaha!

One of the funniest scenes ever. My wife makes pickled eggs often, and when we're in the living room, and she goes toward the kitchen, I always say "Pickled egg please." Of course she knows the gag by now, and usually just shakes her head and rolls her eyes.

Loved seeing Thomas stack the beer cans and it only get yelled at by Ms Roebuck but then have that little brat knock them down, hated that kid!

Funny slip there, calling Ms. Wilcox Ms. Roebuck (Ms. Roebuck was the Condo King’s protector and Magnum’s nemesis in Birdman of Budapest and of course was played by Tom Selleck’s first wife Jacqueline Ray). One might almost call it a Freudian slip.

Not a great episode, but had some funny moments... The beer cans, the green paint in TM's face, and TC's pickled egg buy were great. I agree, there is NO WAY that TM doesn't know the guy didn't actually hit .381. And Ms. Wilcox??? Yes, she was a hottie for sure.

One thing that bothers me about the beer cans falling is that it is clear from the noise they make that they are empty. They tinkle instead of thud, like full beer cans would.

Exactly! What also doesn't make sense is all the beer spilled all over the floor. Why? Did TM open the cans first and then stack them??? Surely they aren't suggesting that cans collapsing would automatically pop or explode and beer would spill everywhere. We're not talking about dropping cans from some height here.

Haha! I watched it just earlier this week! For the first time!! And now I know who Johnny Wells is.

I liked it! Some comedic episodes don't really work that well (like "Smaller Than Life") but others like this one do. It's mostly down to the writing and the guest cast. The LaSalle sisters and Johnny Wells are cool characters. Waldo Norris? Not so much. And you just can't beat "pickled egg, please".
