The same day when it was announced, Jay Hernandez posted the photo in the iconic Ferrari 308.

Thanks for the update. It’ll never be a replacement but I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

Well at least we know they didn’t have to pull the stuffing out of the seats.

I don't like this. Monday is not easy day, because The Voice. Besides lead-in will be new comedies. And if new comedies will have a poor ratings, it may end badly for the Magnum P.I.
New description of the show, they reveal that Magnum is a die-hard Detroit Tigers fan. So looks like he will wear a Detroit Tigers cap in the show, like in original.
MAGNUM P.I. is a modern take on the classic series starring Jay Hernandez as Thomas Magnum, a decorated former Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. A charming rogue, an American hero and a die-hard Detroit Tigers fan, Magnum has Juliet Higgins and her Dobermans to keep him in line, as well as his trusted buddies and fellow POW survivors TC and Rick when he needs back-up on a job. With keys to a vintage Ferrari in one hand, aviator sunglasses in the other, and an Old Düsseldorf longneck chilling in the fridge, Thomas Magnum is back on the case! Peter Lenkov, Eric Guggenheim, Justin Lin, John Davis, John Fox and Danielle Woodrow are executive producers for CBS Television Studios in association with Universal Television. Lin directed the pilot from a script by Lenkov and Guggenheim. MAGNUM P.I. stars Jay Hernandez as Thomas Magnum, Perdita Weeks as Juliet Higgins, Zachary Knighton as Orville “Rick” Wright and Stephen Hill as Theodore “TC” Calvin.

Re: Magnum P.I. Ordered to Series at CBS
President CBS about no comma in the title and no mustache:
CBS’ new “Magnum P.I.” is a reboot of 1980s series “Magnum, P.I.” There are two distinct differences in this version: 1) A goatee instead of a mustache for the titular character, and 2) No comma in the title.
CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl explained both decisions Wednesday morning during the network’s annual pre-upfront breakfast with reporters.
“We debated the ‘Magnum’ thing for quite a bit, believe it or not,” Kahl said about the latter. “There was a comma before, we’re taking the comma out this time to streamline things.”
“I think there’s a little science behind it, actually,” he continued. “In the new world of searching, commas are not your friends.”
Perhaps that explains rival ABC’s issue with the one-and-done “Alex, Inc.” (It definitely does not.)
After the eggs benedict, the “Magnum” facial hair switcheroo served a little bit more as comic relief than sincere Q&A.
When asked by a reporter about how “rigorous” the debate was about if new star Jay Hernandez ought to copy former lead Tom Selleck’s trademark look, Kahl came up with the following:
“It’s a goatee, so it’s… half-mustache,” he said. “Thom [Sherman, a senior vice president] and I dictated that he have a goatee.”
