Deleting Posts

#1 Post by Carol the Dabbler »

I've just noticed that, although I *am* allowed to delete my own posts from threads on the non-Season forums, I am *not* allowed to do so on any of the Season forums.

James: Is this discrepancy

1) Intentional (if so, am wondering why  ),

2) Accidental (if so, please fix! :D ), or

3) Tied in with the "You can/not create new threads" switch ( )

Thanks for looking into this....

Hi Carol,

I've corrected it (#2). You can now delete your own posts in the "Seasons" forums.

Thanks

James, I've just discovered that, even though a particular forum says (down at the bottom of the page) that I can delete my own posts, I cannot if subsequent posts have taken the forum onto another page. For example, if I had posted on page 1, and also posted on page 2, then as long as page 2 remains the last page of that forum, I could delete my page 2 post, but not my page 1 post.

I'm hoping you can fix this too!
Carol

Hmm, that's a weird little "quirk". There doesn't appear to be an obvious "fix". I guess if you need to delete a post, make sure you do it before the second page hits.

I was afraid you were going to say that! Thanks for checking into it.

I seem to have a talent for adding the final post on a page, so that the very next post (which could come almost immediately) puts me into no-delete land. I also have a talent for putting my virtual foot in my virtual mouth. I guess the best "fix" would be to just think of something else I could have said (even if it's not really worth posting) and edit the darn thing.
