Watching the series again after so many years I think the aspect that impressed me the most was Hillerman's portrayal of Higgins. The writers did an impressive job on Higgins' character development over the seasons, and as I get older he is actually the character I admire the most. His fine moral compass, his sense of honour, his loyalty to his friends - such fine qualities. You could certainly do worse than to ask yourself "What would Higgins do?" when faced with a difficult situation.

I'm a big fan of the show. I've lurked off and on for months, and today I decided to take the plunge.

Also, I want to commend this website for chronicling all things Magnum. Thank you for doing this. The website is pretty cool in it's own right... and I think it's great that fans from around the world also post here.

And the show? What a freaking awesome show! Luv it ~

I am Jade from Texas and was a Magnum, P.I. fan back in it's original run.
Catching up again with all old beloved characters and loving it more this time.
I fully agree with latest Higgins sentiment on this thread.
I was almost a kid back when the show was young. I thought Tom Selleck was hot. Now I am older and wiser and of course I like people for better reasons than back then. Heheh.
As you get to know me here, if you find you think we could have fun as facebook friends feel free to pm me about the possibility. I have a strange and unique eclectic taste in music and other sorts of entertainment. I look forward to being a part of this forum for at least as long as it takes me to get this series once again.

I'm up for getting to know anybody better that actually knows the difference between "than" and "then" and uses both of them in the proper context.

I'm sure no english major, but sometimes it's hard for me to understand what folks are trying to say with the way the language is murdered. No wut i meen?

I just reconnected with this series over the holidays. I grew up in Hawaii and lived there when it originally aired. I now live in California and I'd originally watched mainly to reminisce about the various locations and the time period, but then got hooked (again) on the characters and the stories. Back then I lived in windward Oahu, and remember passing the film trucks parked along Kalanianaole highway. But I'd kind of forgotten about the great characters, stories, and the series as a whole. I especially identify with the military aspects of the main characters and their backstory. It fits well within the setting and my experiences growing up there.

I found this website while searching for trivia and found it to be a great resource. Glad to be aboard!

Hi everyone. Love the sight and the work that goes into it. I have been lurking for about two years while I watched the series via DVD. I have a family trip planned to Oahu in August and can't wait to visit various magnum sights with the assistance of the rubber chicken's guide.
