I Was a big fan of the Las Vegas show when it was on Monday night and it was about the casino. Then after a few seasons (I think the series creator left to do other things?) it became kind of hokey and cheesy and less about running the casino. After it moved to Friday night I never really remembered to watch it, and I was amazed how they basically just swept James Caan's character under the rug and then acted like he never existed. I only caught a few episodes of the 5th season, luckily the one with the Magnum reunion and Sellecks character was interesting but not as "tough" as James Caan's. I just hope Selleck doesn't become the new Ted McGinley... lol (you have to know Jump the Shark to get that).

I seriously doubt that will ever happen. Magnum PI is one of the few shows that never "Jumped the Shark". :D

I do not think it lacks anything, so I have to disagree with you there lutherhgillis, but hey everyone is different.
Thanks for posting though.
Las Vegas was my favorite televison show when it was first on television. James Caan was very good and gave the show excitement. Sam (the brown haired woman) was very attractive. I enjoyed it very much.

Las Vegas became bad after Tom Selleck joined the cast. They never developed his character. The story lines became goofy too. The action went away.

I liked seeing the reunion of the Magnum cast in the last season, one of the few good things that last year.

The first three or four years, Las Vegas was the best program on television.

Since LV has been in the can for a few years now, does anyone wish to revise their comments upward? Was the show actually better than your first impression of it?

For me, it was still not a very good show. It may have been better in the early years but Selleck jumped onto a sinking ship. It was better than I initially gave it credit but it was still a stinker over all for me.

You?
Who's Dot Matrix, and what has she got to do with this?

For any of you interested, the Las Vegas episode with Roger and Larry (wearing his team ring) airs tonight (Sunday) 9:30 pm CDT during the E channels marathon. I always thought it was a petty good show but has been hard to find the last few years....

Recently watched the show, for the first time, as it was on a few days a week with a few eps per day... I'm with the first page posters who thought overall the show is (was) a bit tacky (my words). The pilot revealed a lot about the writing to come, Caan's daughter was annoying to watch... raunchy. Sorry, Selleck didn't do much for the show (IMO), I liked Caan better. I feel embarrassed, nay stupid, even when watching by myself when lines like "don't get your panties in a twist... I'm not wearing any panties" are delivered. Cheezzeey :)

Sorry I missed the guys from MPI on LV, but did catch Lovitz, Bradshaw, Stallone, JCVD.
