Two good westerns with Tom Selleck! Also both have Sam Elliott, Jeff Osterhage, and Ben Johnson. The Sacketts first aired, in a two-parter, May 15-16,1979. The Shadow Riders first aired Sept 28,1982. Both movies were based on books by Louis L'Amour. Check them out on DVD.

I've always wished that Tom and Sam would get together and reprise either those roles or do something else together. Two of my all time favorite actors..........

Just bought a new DVD of, "The Sacketts"! Had it at the local "Fred Meyer" for $9.99! A great western and Tom Selleck, great way to spend the day!

I have the Shadow Riders, but not the Sacketts, which also stars the incomparable Ben Johnson. Probably one of the best cowboy actors of all time.

Just watching "The Shadow Riders" again on Encore's Western channel! It's just one of those movies, that makes me feel good! I don't know if it's been mentioned in the forum, but Jacqueline Ray, Tom Selleck's first wife, is one of the girls who has been kidnapped by the ex-reb's in this movie!

Sunday morning, Sept 8th, The Sacketts is on the Encore channel. On Directv, it's on Encore east at 7:00am.

Was hoping The Sacketts & Shadow Riders would be remastered for DVD purchase. Did this happen in the USA.

Both are available on DVD in the US via Amazon. They’re quite inexpensive as well, $6-8 each, currently.
