A first for me: met a real "private investigator"

#1 Post by Frodoleader »

Last week I met, for the first time that I am aware of, a private investigator. It was a young lady (and no, we were not drinking!) that was working for a private investigation firm. She was doing undercover work as a retail buyer. They are investigating black market "knock-off' products such as clothes and hand bags.

And no, I did not call her a "private eye". But I do recall using the term "PI" somewhere in the conversation.
I know what you are thinking: She was pulling my leg. I really don't think so. Her story seemed too plausible to me.
Well anyway, there you have it!

Don't we wish! As we were talking my mind kept going back to all the PI stuff we see on MPI. Man! Wished I had a copy of TM's book, "How to be a Private Investigator"! Or did Luther Gillis write one?

BTW Conch: she was pretty cute too!

Luther did write one.
Wasn`t Magnums to-be-book called "How to become a famous Private Investigator"?

I thought Magnum always said he was going to write one on "How to Become a World Class Private Investigator".

Stickler note:

Wasn't it "How to Be a World Class Private Investigator"?

I think this is one of the reasons why my sister tells me to get a life . . .

I am a private Investigator. I was working for a loss prevention company so I did a lot of insurance fraud cases. I did have one cheating spouse case and from time to time serve court papers. Sure isn't exciting like it is on t.v. I am slowly getting out of it and becoming a cop.

We had a PI here in Chicago named Ernie Rizzo
http://ernierizzo.com/press.html
that some of you may have heard of. He wa a real low life that injected himself into many high profile cases, had an absolutely gosh-awfull Tom Selleck Toupee', drove around town in a Ferrari for a while until I think it was reposessed and would spend more time on Rush Street and other juice joints than on cases (or maybe that is how he worked).
He passed away a little over a year ago and the press here all had some hilarious stories about him and his escapades......
