Hey kimo: You should be thankful for tourist, it seems to be the only income in hawaii. Where I live we only had one industry, logging, then in 1992 President Clinton banned logging, now my county recieves $65,000,000 in federal aid (called timber net money). My plan (when I wanted to move to hawaii) was to capitolize on tourism, sell homemade items to tourist, ect.

we definitely are appreciative for tourists. I hang out in Waikiki and the stories from around the world are fantastic!

Yeah, that was what my mother said about moving to Oregon also, she called it her "life long dream". Now she calls it a lawless land and we carry guns because we don't feel safe here. There have been several murders on our street and we just found out our mail-lady is quitting because she's scared to even deliver mail here.

Be careful what you wish for.

I think I've learned a lot from my last "adventure" (moving to Oregon), I am being VERY cautious about where I go next.

Funny, it is in a rural area, not the big city. Somebody "in the know" told me there are 17 pot farms just on my street. Who knows how many meth labs?
