Tom Selleck meeting

#1 Post by DarCA »

No, unfortunately it wasn't me, but my best friend way back in 2002.

The Today Show was auctioning off their guest book from that year; my friend, Lynn, wanted to bid on it only if TS had signed it. Producers from the show confirmed he had. Proceeds from the action went to charity.

Lynn had the high bid and the producers called her to set up a time for her to fly to NY to bring a check and get the book. The producer knew she had asked about TS and told her he was going to be a guest on the show and could Lynn be there on that date. Lynn had a cruise scheduled, but she canceled it.

She flies to NY and while in the makeup chair at the Today Show in walks TS to get his make up done. He says to her "I hear you canceled a cruise to be here". She said he was very sweet. She had her picture taken with him and if I knew how to post it - I would share it with you, but I'm computer illiterate.

Hope I didn't ramble to much - I'm telling this story like Higgins would.

Much thanks to Coops for helping me post the picture.

Great story! If checking the link for uploading doen't work, you could email the picture to me (or anyone else on the forum) and we could post for you. :D
Higgins: You've washed the car?! How extraordinary. Why would you do such a thing?

TS is such a class act. Why can't more of Hollywierd be like him? What a great story, Dar!

Great picture. TS's "regular guy-ness" shows through in this pic. What I mean by that is that his hair isn't perfect, and he's wearing a great shirt, sort of casual and western in style, and he looks genuinely happy to pose with this person. He knows what his fans want and is happy to give it to them. What a great guy!!

Indeed this picture shows the TS we all admire. He is so down to earth and not at all like so many of the 'plastic' type people who make series and films.

Thanks for sharing!

Great picture! Thanks for the sharing it.

I love how the Soledad O'Brien poster is aligned perfectly between the two. It's like she's peeking over Tom's shoulder. ;)
Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!
