The bracelet shows up in several of the pictures I posted.

Interesting . . . . another MPI coincidence? A bracelet worn throughout . . . .

Has anyone noticed his wearing a bracelet in anything else? Do we have a trend here? The man likes bling??? (but manly man bling . . . .) Did he wear something in Las Vegas? I don't recall a bracelet in the Jesse Stone movies, but in those he almost always has long sleeves on.

Okay, let the search begin. TS bracelet spottings!!

For me, it's hard to attach the word "bling" to TS or for that matter, a MIA or elephant hair bracelet.

Elephant hair bracelets are most commonly worn by African big game hunters. John Wayne wore one in Hatari as did Bill Travers in Born Free.

Almost forgot. In these two interviews, you can clearly see TS wearing his elephant hair bracelet.

As I saw in the airport (Atlanta, international terminal) last week. elephant hair bracelets are illegal as can be -- several were shown in the "confiscated by U.S. Customs" display windows.

So how can TS legally wear one (politically correctly)? Just as long as he doesn't travel in and out of the U.S. while wearing it?

Could it be the same bracelet he had 30-ish years ago???

I'm thinking along the lines of antique ivory jewelry..... Haven't a clue how long the elephant hair bracelets last.

The 1989 C.I.T.E.S. ban states that the importing, buying, and selling of African elephant products (ivory, hide, and hair) is not allowed internationally. It cannot be imported into or exported out of the U.S. or practically any other country of the world. It is legal to own, buy, sell or ship within the United States and there are no permits or registration requirements.

TS's elephant hair bracelet is more than likely an older estate piece or a gift from a big game hunting friend. The bracelets can last a very long time as both, elephant hide and hair, wear like steel.

Allright.........If we are talking Tom Selleck Movies, I guess it is time for me to finally admit to all of you one of my guilty pleasure movies of his; Folks. What an awfull plot, Tom trying to kill (their choice) his elderly parents! Maybe because it was shot in Chicago and I recall seeing the film crew around town including a few scenes shot with in blocks of my loft (no Tom sighting) and I love almost any movie shot in Chicago. Also because he had a Nissan 300ZX in the movie and I had one at the time as well and hey, I guess I am a sucker for sick slapstick. I hated seeing him sans mustache though!

Did you know that this movie was directed by the same person that made the movie Weekend At Bernie's? (More sick slapstick!) I like both movies and Folks shows TS's talent for doing comedy. As Steve wrote, it WAS a horrible plot, but TS's acting was above average! :D
