R.I.P. Vincent McEveety (Director)

#1 Post by Rembrandt's Girl »

Although he only directed one episode of MPI, "The Legacy of Garwood Huddle", I thought I'd post due to his extensive directing (and producing) career. He passed away last week at the age of 88.

Anybody who directed 40 episodes of Simon & Simon and 45 episodes of Gunsmoke is ok in my book. "Charlie Noon" "The Noose" "Cleavus" and "The Jailer" are all standout episodes of Gunsmoke, imo.

Agreed. I wonder if Jameson Parker is aware of the news of McEveety's death. He doesn't often comment on Simon & Simon (Parker made no mention of his co-star Mary Carver) or his career in general, but it would be interesting to read his reminiscences of someone with whom he worked so frequently.
