WISEGUY: THE DETAILS Q&A WITH TOM SELLECK

#1 Post by Kahunagirl »

"The mustachioed legend sounds off on killer macaws, those damn hippies, and his fear of waxing"

A new interview from Details magazine ... a couple of pages long. Not a lot of new info but a fun read, at:

Thanks for the post! I always love reading or seeing an interview even if I know most of what he has said anyway.

Woohoo! Now we know why the episode, Two Birds of a Feather was so bad! They had to change a bunch of stuff in the script and even TS said the script was ruined! I can sleep a little bit better tonight...(j/k)!

SelleckLover, it was actually from "Birdman of Budapest".

I accidentally posted my response to this topic in the wrong thread. I've deleted it and re-posted it here, along with Doc Ibold's reply. My bad.
James J. Walters wrote:Too funny, the interviewer brought up the "killer parrot" from "Birdman From Budapest", and Tom corrected him ("It's a macaw")! LOL! Doc, are you listening? "Birdman" seems to come up all over the place! A legendary episode if there ever was one! Wink

Interesting that they originally had "killer falcons" in the script! If they had used falcons, what would Higgins' "death call" be? A macaw?? Hehe...
Doc Ibold wrote:I'm telling you... regardless of how ridiculous it is, people REMEMBER that episode!

Its almost as iconic as "Home From The Sea". Killer Macaws, Higgins losing his cool and sqealeiking (squealing and shrieking), Killer grannies, decapitation. What MORE could you want.

I know TS thinks that the Macaw ruined it... but you know he has a soft spot.

HONESTLY though, you'd think they would have known about the quarantine laws by Season 3.
Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!

The Q&A was from "Details" magazine. I saw it in the supermarket last week -- the issue with Jason Bateman on the cover. The online Q&A is much longer than the one printed in the actual magazine.

No worries SL 8)
The reason Two Birds Of A Feather was so bad is because the only reason it existed was to introduce the William Lucking character Sam Houston Hunter.
"But Higgins, I can explain."

that was a really good read, thank you. the main reason i took to MPI so fast is that you knew beneath the characters, there was a real person. that's sadly something that's become a thing of the past.
