The "Get Wet" cap

Okay, I've figured out the design, and it looks like silk screening for the words. Under the words "Get Wet" it says something, Hawaii. Has anyone figured put what it says?

The flying Ds on the sides may be a clue. If I can figure this out, it may be reletively inexpensive having the silk screen made. Just thinking about it right now.

I can't quite make it out. It could be swiming or kayaking? I will try to watch the episode to see if I can get a better look at it. I agree with you that it does look silk screened.

I was thinking that a good inexpensive way to reproduce the logos, at least the flying D's might be to use Iron on transfer paper in an ink jet.

He wears the cap in "Straight And Narrow", "Death And Taxes", "Paper War", and "Death Of The Flowers".

It's really hard to see, but it looks like it says "__WRING HAWAII". I can't make out the first two letters. Hmm, time to put on our sleuthing caps!

Nice work!!
Looks like another cap mystery solved.
Downing Hawaii website:
http://www.downingsurf.com/index.html

A slightly different flying D logo is there, but 20 years have passed.
I was really hoping the cap would be for sale on their website, but no luck there.

I did a little Photoshop work on the modern logo, and tried to match the fonts on the text.

I'll try searching for a closer font. or maybe even try to copy it by hand. I think this cap could be made quite easily with iron on printer paper. If someone were so inclined, taking the design to a silk screener would be a possibility.
