You won't believe this

#1 Post by IKnowWhatYoureThinking »

I was just talking to a couple of people in my office and one of them had never heard of Magnum. She didn't even know how Tom Selleck was (gasp)? I told her I'd have to let her borrow a DVD to educate herself on the show, and I promised that she'd be hooked!

She's probably young (and commie  ) because I have also met many youngsters who do not know who TS is.

I would bet that he is a really cool guy to hang out with. As a matter of fact, I would bet the main 4 from MPI would be a good group to shoot the breeze with. It seemed like they had a lot of fun doing the show.

I know TS has taken heat for not being an America-hating Liberal in Hollywood and lost some jobs because of it. His success is the best revenge, however.

My kids are just now finding out who Magnum is. My son loves to watch the show, but I think he is more interested in the chopper and the Ferrari than he is any of the story lines.

I have a few 20-somethings at work who have not heard of the show. Most know who Tom Selleck is, however. At their age, if the parents wern't watching MPI, they wouldn't have been exposed to it. They think Three Men and a Baby or Friends when I mention TS :?

I agree, we should all educate our families on Magnum PI and Tom Selleck. All my family know who Mr. Thomas Selleck is and know quite alot about him and his career. I quess they are all listening when I talk about him endlessly! :D
Well at least my 4 year old grandson listens.
He knows who TS is and that he is Magnum PI, that he drives a red car, lived in Hawaii, and now lives in California.
The only thing he is allowed to watch TS in is the animated movie"Meet the Robinsons." When he is older he is the one who will get my TS collection.
I am looking for the piano music for the Magnum PI theme to teach him to play. He can hum it now.

The most played track on my iPod is the Magnum PI theme. My oldest daughter is 5 and she loves it. Both she and our 3 yr old daughter know that Magnum is "Daddy's show" and I've let them watch some select episodes with me. They always want me to "play it again" when the theme song comes up.

Glad to be on this forum.

Bill

ps. a friend of mine is a jazz drummer who did a version of the theme song on his cd from a few years ago. Look for Brooke Sofferman's One Stone, Two Birds album. It's the last track. Good arrangement.
