MPI Prop Items @ eBay

#1 Post by J.J. Walters »

Someone on eBay is offering up several "MPI" items that "came directly from the prop department". I don't recall ever seeing any of these props. Do you?

I've seen a lot of these things turn up on eBay, James.
I'm pretty sure they're all fake.

The screen used prop market seems to be a dangerous place to spend your money in. Reputable places like http://www.screenused.com/ are safe, but they sure ask a lot for the various items...

Yeah, this seems like such an easy thing to scam. What is surprising me here is the fact that I can't recall ever seeing any of these props in the show! You would think that they would at least take the time to try and find items that look like items seen in the show!

And I'm sorry, but who the HELL would want a "Soap Dish" from Magnum PI.

I'm sure most of us forumites, however obsessed, would never notice a "Soap Dish", nor would we want to buy it.

(BTW - "Try A Little Tenderness" is playing on my iTunes right now)

Just thought I'd share...

I agree with Doc Ibold, who would want something that small and unnoticable. It would be a different thing if it were the rubber chicken or the gorilla mask, or something like that.

I consider myself one of the most rabid MPI fans there is, and I wouldn't pay a nickel for any one of these items. Now, the surf ski, hat rack, Rolex GMT, gorilla mask, rubber chicken, stuff like that I'd be all over.
