The Magnum "Story"

#1 Post by VM02 »

Perhaps this is a silly topic, since every episode adds something to the overall pciture, but I started thinking about this when I was watching Raid...er...Legend of the Lost Art. Although it is one of my favorite episodes, it doesn't really fit with the overall narrative. In fact, I think that most episodes are stand alone episodes. Which episodes tell the Magnum "Story" (Backstory?) as much as we know. Heres my stab:

Dont eat the Snow
Memories are Forever
Did you See the Sunrise
Home from the Sea
Dream a Little Dream
Deja Vu
Going Home
Death and Taxes
Little Girl Who
Limbo
Infinity and Jelly Doughnuts
Unfinished Business
Resolutions

What did I miss?

Two Bird of a Feather briefly touches on a skirmish in Cambodia that he was in.

While Luther Gillis in Transitions is kinda... odd. I think Transitions is a good lead in into Resolutions.

Also, might want to include All For One as well as Echoes of the Mind and Mac's Back. All three of those add to Magnum's narrative and journey.

I always thought Universal should put out a Magnum family background DVD. To my mind, it would include

Memories are Forever
Home from the Sea
Going Home
Little Girl Who
Limbo
Resolutions
The one where his aunt comes to visit (I'm blanking on the episode name!)

Could also do a Higgins family DVD, with all the half-brothers and the trip back to England with the forced visit to his father.

There are so many possible ways to group the various episodes!
