Anyone up for MPI trivia?

For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

Doc,
Are you talking about the guy sleeping at the bar?

Well, I just found out that I don't have season five and I am kicking myself as that is one of my all time favorite episodes "rack'em up, Hubert"........ I am going to take a wild guess and say Ivan Dixon, The Director. If not, I did stumble upon this article about Mr. Dixon and check out the photo in the middle of the page.......

Steve,

You're on the right track.

The person I'm talking about was a "heavy", so to speak.

Hopefully that'll everyone on the right track.

ok, guys
so it's not the guy sleeping at the bar,
and I thought Steve had it.
Mr Dixon kind of looked like the bartender.
Then Doc said he was a heavy.
Well here's my guess.
Was that Bob Minor in the bar?

In Luther Gillis, File #001 we're treated to the Higgins/Elmo show again, as well as Luther Gillis in a cowboy bar.

There is another familiar face in that bar, who is he?

(Actor name, not character name).
There is a guy who is in the background sitting down with a cowboy hat on that looks like Tom Lupo, TS' stunt double. There is another guy that looks like Bob Minor, but I don't believe it is. So, my guess is Tom Lupo.

Sophia mentioned the guy sleeping at the bar. I think that it is the same drunk guy we see in the hotel lobby where Father Paddy is staying, in "Faith and Begorrah." We see him when Higgins walks into the lobby. The guy belches once or twice.

KEE-RECT sophia and IslandHopper.

I glanced at it when I watched it the other day, rewound, and then looked again, but I would put $100 that it's Bob Minor. He has the same stance, physique and facial features as Bob Minor.

(Think moreso "Rose" from "Legacy From A Friend" than "Ron Pennington" from "Round and Around").

If its NOT him, I'm a dope, but I swear it is him, especially since he's been known to play background type characters before.

Doc,
I'm not sure if it is Minor or not.
I've got to go back and look for Lupo, now.
Anybody notice Magnum's paddle or oar,on the stairs when he is coming home in
this episode. He and Higgins just step over it and keep right on going.
Could'nt figure that one out.
Why was it there?

Are you sure, Doc? With the dim lighting, it's very hard to tell.

But wait, it gets better! Believe it or not, there is actually another guy in the bar who could pass as Bob Minor!

Either way, I nominate this question as "The Best Dang Magnum P.I. Trivia Question Ever"! :)

That's the guy.
The more I look at it, the more uncertain I am.
I'll take the $100, though.

Thanks!

Even if its NOT Bob Minor, it sure looks like him!

There is a better shot of the guy. When Higgins starts running the table, you will see the guy standing behind Dex as Dex stares in disbelief at Higgins' skill. The shot is much closer and clearer. However, I still don't think it is Bob Minor.

There may be another MPI alumnus in the bar. There is a heavy-set guy with a full dark-brown beard. He is also wearing a cowboy hat. I believe this guy was one of the construction workers seen in "The Rivet" Bar in "Squeeze Play."

I think neither in these caps.

How about a new one?

What do "hi guy" and "Certainly not!" have in common, and which episodes?

Cowboy, DENINITELY Cowboy.

The Bartender obviously isn't.
