MAGNUM UNDERCOVER

#1 Post by KingKC »

These are the shows where TM went undercover:

Limited Engagement - Convenience store clerk
Luther Gillis File #001 - Banker
One More Summer - Football Player
I Do - Husband
Pretty Good Dancing Chicken - Convict
I Never Wanted to Go to France Anyway - Carnival Worker

In Elmo Ziller Rick and TC go undercover as clowns
and Higgins goes undercover as Elmo Ziller
In One More Summer TC goes undercover as a football player

Are there any other episodes where TM goes undercover? Also are there any scenes where TM impersonates someone to get information or snoop around or get into some office or business? I remember that used to be a common ploy of James Garner on Rockford Files but I don't remember TM doing it all that often. And it seems like six undercover episodes aren't really a lot for 150+ episodes. Just my opinion.

Well . . . In the pilot movie Don't Eat the Snow in Hawai'i he impersonated an officer to get access to the base.

Kinda fine line there since he was impersonating himself.

Yep. If you look closely, you can see that he's wearing a big fake mustache over his big real mustache. Thomas Magnum - master of disguise.

Yes he sure did and that scene was used in the opening credits. Great catch Marlboro!

These examples probably don't count as they are probably closer to "wearing a disguise" vs actually going undercover, but I'll mention them anyway.

How about Rick disguising himself as a furniture mover in "No Need to Know"? I think that was the episode, anyway. Rick maneuvers a large trunk to obscure the view of any onlookers while Magnum picks a lock.

Rick also disguises himself as a pool cleaner in "The Ugliest Dog in Hawaii"

Rick also dresses up as a liquor store delivery boy in Ghost Writer

Don't forget Rick as the sushi delivery boy! Don't recall the episode ATM, but he was to distract the occupant of the house at the front door, while Magnum sneaked in the back. :magnum:

I actually think there was an episode or two where Rick complained about having to wear disguises.

All I remember is Rick Simon/Gerald McRaney going undercover as an exterminator in the crossover episode with Simon and Simon.

I'm know I'm not crazy. There is an episode where Magnum is posing as an exterminator. He even jokes about it with Rick in a later episode. He was wearing the overalls he wore in "Paper War" when he cut down the cereus mandevillus.

I really think you are correct now that I think about it! For some reason I have this image of a strange looking bug mask (in addition to his gorilla mask) that TM wore to scare Rick as well. Someone with a much better memory than mine will have to figure out which episode it was.
