I had no idea compiling this list would be such an investment. In the end, I judged by which episodes are my "go-to-when-I-need-a-fix" episodes, the ones I never tire of watching.

TOP 10:

Home From The Sea (my favorite when I watched MPI first-run)
Did You See The Sunrise?
Limbo
The Jororo Kill
No Need To Know
Don't Eat The Snow In Hawaii
The Big Blow
Operation Silent Night
Black on White
Paper War

HONORABLE MENTION:

Death and Taxes
China Doll
Ki'i's Don't Lie (I thought the crossovers were really cool as a kid)
The Case of The Red Faced Thespian
Tropical Madness
Letter to a Duchess
J. Digger Doyle

Yeah I was going to mention that 'China Doll' was one of my favorites as well. But that's mainly because of Susie Elene. But the storyline was pretty good for a second episode.

Just finished watching the entire run of the show on DVD. Thanks Netflix! A top ten list took some effort, had to leave off some real favorites:

Texas Lightning (best final line of the series)
Flashback
Of Sound Mind (still makes me laugh out loud)
Home From The Sea
Limited Engagement
Squeeze Play
Case of the Red-Faced Thespian
Murder 101
The Hotel Dick
Going Home

Thanks to J.J. Walters for this site. Made watching the series a lot more fun.

I can't really explain why, but The Big Blow has always been my favorite episode. It has some really good actors in it, and it has quite a bit of humor.

Some of my other favorites are:

Death and Taxes....."You can't win Magnum"...great line!!!!
Black and White...... Love Ian McShane
Summer School...... Now that kid knew how to get into trouble, but I can't understand why he was still in boarding school at the age of 20.
