Magnum P.I.: The Comic Book

#1 Post by J.J. Walters »

A modern re-boot of the show in comic book format. Unfortunately, they couldn't secure all of the licensing rights (most, but not all). Not a huge comic book fan, but I would have certainly been interested in it. The artwork looks fantastic.

How did you find this, James?

'Most, but not all'?
How many groups would have to be approached for such a venture?

Good idea, bad graphic style.

I agree that the graphic style isn't true to the original series run. But I actually like it as an updated take on the show. It would be a great way to explore the Magnauniverse all these years later.

I like it. The update doesn't bother me that much because I think that is what they were going for. I'd imagine the Ferrari and clothing of the individuals would be similar in any movie they make to this comic strip.

I don't like updates in the first place.
But if it has to be so, not this one.
I think Adam Hughes' style or something like that would fit better.

They apparently had an issue with the licensing for one of the characters. I can't say which one, sorry.

Agreed- but there is so little out there that anything would be good enough to me right now.

JJ, was there any body of the comic eg. few pages/stories of artwork created, or was there only a cover page produced for the ideas pitch?
