Hot Wheels Elite ROBIN-1

Has anyone heard of a Hot Wheels Elite Magnum P.I. Ferrari 308 GTS?

It's meant to be coming out next month some time... Could be quite cool!

I think it's really cool that they're making new Magnum P.I. merchandise, but I don't see myself spending over $100 on a toy car in the foreseeable future.

Yeah, agreed it's expensive! There's not much info online about the model yet.

You can find them for less than $100 on other sites if you search a bit more.
This could drop further once the run of models gets going too.

I found a model at a small toy shop in Solvang. I only paid 40 bucks for it. Sometimes it's better to search for things, without the internet.
I just don't give a damn!

The wife would be pissed if I put down $100 on , as Higgins would say, a toy car!

Would love to have it, but at $100, just not prudent. Should this have been in the "Looking for a cheap Ferrari 308" thread? :D (just kidding!)

I got this at my local Toys R Us last weekend for $40. I'm happy with it!

Cool, but over $100? Ouch!
Guys, 1:18 is pretty freaking big. $100 is fair and for it to be a MPI edition, I'll gladly spend it!

Awesome! :)

It will never land in my house, however. If my wife found out I laid down $100 bucks for a Hot Wheels car, she'd skin me alive..... SKIN ME ALIVE!

Well that's a bit disappointing, just received this email: :(
We were recently informed by the distributor for Mattel that due to licensing issues the 1:18 scale 1980s Ferrari 308 GTS (P9908) will not have the "Magnum P.I." TV series logo or artwork on the packaging as originally announced. It will only have the "TV Stars" branding.

This highly detailed Limited Edition model will still be the same model of the Ferrari seen in the series. I should also mention that we were told that the printed background scene in the box behind the car will be a helicopter and palm trees, the same as it was before the licensing issue.

These models have arrived at the distributor and are awaiting shipment to us. But, since there was in change in the packaging, we need to know if you still want to order it. Please let us know as soon as possible. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Curses!

Universal must have asked for too much?
I guess this makes the possibility of a little Robin-1 plate out of the question. I guess I'll make my own!
