Thomas Magnum @ The Hollywood Wax Museum

Have you guys seen this? Thomas Magnum @ The Hollywood Wax Museum:

Image

The face and stache look ok, but the shirt is all wrong. TM never wore a shirt like that! Where is the watch and MIA bracelet? And what is he holding? A sweater? Come on, he hardly ever wore a sweater! Sigh. I guess we should be thankful he's not wearing short shorts!

THAT LOOKS LIKE AN INTERIOR DECORATOR!!! Or maybe an out of work porn actor.
The only part that looks a little like him is around the eyes. The shirt is just plain awful. The neck looks like Lou Ferrigno's.
As for looking like Lee Horsley, back in the day I thought they were the same person . I suppose we can be happy he's represented, but it never ceases to amaze me how distorted some people's impression of TM is. For example, to most, any Hawiian shirt and baseball cap constitutes a good copy. this wax version would have been much better with a Detroit Tigers cap and jungle bird sirt, or the VM02 cap with the tan field shirt.
As for the watch, bracelet, and ring. It's a wax statue. A cheap ebay ring spray painted gold would work, along with the cheapest of cheap fake rolex GMT. bracelets can be had pretty cheaply as well. I guess some people aren't sticklers for detail.

For the love of all things accurate, please someone wet down that puffy hair or slap a Tigers Cap on it! What did they do, hijack that from the Tribute to Studio 54 exhibit and replace the Angels Flight Polyester Three Piece Suit with Jeans and a Hawaiian Shirt........LOL!

They should have hired us a consultants. The results would have been a heck of a lot better. I think it looks kind of cheap!

Geez, I think the statue looks more like Alex Trebek than Magnum! And Steve, you're right about the puffy hair...my mother used to wear her hair like that back in the 1960s!

That statue is hideous. In addition to what everyone else has said, the hands look like a woman’s. The waist is not tapered either. That sweater is utterly ridiculous especially considering he is supposed to be standing on the beach.

Don’t you have to get permission to use another person’s likeness for profit? Well, I guess the creators of this ball of wax are safe on two counts. First, it looks nothing like TS, and second, I don’t think anyone would pay to see that monstrosity, hence no profit.
The answer is obvious, old man. Logic is irrelevant. It's simply Tropical Madness. (J.Q. Higgins)

In their defense? , none of the figures look much like their human counterparts. The one of Henry Winkler as the Fonz looks fairly accurate. Actually the Nicole Kidman figure looks about 10 times more lifelike than the real thing.

That figure does capture the Nicole Kidman creepiness doesn't it. I've always suspected her, Madonna and Renee Zellweger are some type of walking, talking wax figure experiment anyway!
