Favorite Comedic Quotes

#1 Post by Italian Ice »

One thing that set this show apart from others was the way it portrayed it's humor. It had some primo quotes as well as some memorable funnies. Some can be used in real life just for fun. What are some of your favorite lines that really made you smile, or fall off the chair? Or it can be a group of lines leading up to a particular quote.
I'll start with one of my favorites....

Rick: Ahi Sushi delivery. Your wish for fish come true."
Higgins: " Dispatch the pig!!! "

Maybe we can get an undercover Mahi-Mahi to find his hideout!

Haha, I don't remember that line. Who said it and from what episode?

Agatha: Johnathan, come quick! Your buns are smoking"
Higgins: " Dispatch the pig!!! "

The quote was from Magnum in Old Acquaintance.

This is one of those quotes that for some strange reason tickled me silly when I first saw it, still does everytime I watch it, and I quote it way too much for my wifes taste.......
In Luther Gillis, File #001 When Higgins and Luther are in the Cowboy Bar about to play pool, Higgins, in his best Elmo Ziller, Texas drawl says; Rack 'em up, Hubert!, well, I just bust up........

This is no doubt one of SL's favorite scenes from Tropical Madness, which also contains two of my favorite lines...lol

Magnum: "A midget or a dwarf!"
Higgins: "No bearded lady? No trapeze artists? Where's the rest of the circus?"

"Forget it, just forget it! Just forget the whole thing! I'm NOT in my underwear! There's NO oil on the car!! Just forget it! You think I'm crazy!?!?
Higgins: " Dispatch the pig!!! "

It has to be T.C. in Limited Engagement.

T.C.: Pickled-egg, please.

I start to laugh just thinking about the ridiculousness of it.
Higgins: You've washed the car?! How extraordinary. Why would you do such a thing?

I can't remember which episode this is in, but it's the one where Higgins hires Magnum to investigate something and at the very end, Magnum thanks Higgins for having confidence in his ability as a private investigator. Higgins says to Magnum, "That's not why I hired you.", or something to that effect, and Magnum says, "So why did you hire me, then?" and Higgins states, "I hired you because you have more dumb luck than anyone I know!"

Priceless! :D

Tropical Madness

A very shocked Higgins, when he and TC open the door and Jennifer is there.

"MY DEAR, YOU LOOK RAVISHING, AHA HA..... A LITTLE CHAMPAGNE?"
Higgins: " Dispatch the pig!!! "

Every time we are in a store where there are pickled eggs, my wife looks at me and says "Pickled egg please". Cracks me up every time.
"But Higgins, I can explain."

As indicated by my sig, my absolute favorite parts of Magnum are when Higgins states "Oh my God!" at given points. The best one comes in Find Me A Rainbow when Magnum sneeks into the party and Higgens gives Magnum the line while out of the camera frame....priceless.
OH MY GAWD!

Great choices so far! There are so many good ones to choose from. One of things that separates this show from so many others in the genre is the comedy/humor. It's often subtle and understated, but very effective.

Magnum: Higgins, are you alright?
Higgins: More appropriately, are you? Another torrid night at the "Boom-Boom Room" I presume.

Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!
