Looks like Jason Heaton has Magnum mania. He jumped on the Momentum Sea Quartz 30 train:

If you're on Instagram, be sure to check out his Story before it disappears in less than 24 hours. A nice little homage to the man himself, complete with the theme song and a photo of TM wearing the original Chronosport.

Cheers!

Yeah, he talked about it on the latest Grey Nato. I believe if you listen carefully it seems that Momentum gifted one to him and James - likely hoping they'll provide some free publicity. Looks like it worked! But Heaton has been an open fan of the Sea Quartz and Magnum for years.

By time I went to the site both pre-orders were closed. Definitely some significant demand. There's also already one for re-sale on ebay.

Eventually I'll get one. Seems like a bargain to me. :magnum:

Styles, did the original Tropic strap have quick-release spring bars? The Tropic strap that came on my Squale Militaire does not have the quick-release spring bars.

Ha! That's great, congrats! Now just to wait for May. And I'm actually rewatching Philip and Elizabeth now.

Sea Quartz 30 Update: Momentum is now taking pre-orders for a Sea Quartz 30 stainless steel bracelet: https://momentumwatch.com/products/sea- ... celet-20mm

It's based on the original Chronosport Sea Quartz 30 bracelet that was an option back in the day.

They're also re-opening the pre-orders for the Sea Quartz 30 on March 7.

Has anybody who owns an original Chronosport ordered one of these new ones? If so, I'd love a side-by-side comparison.

Update: My Momentum Sea Quartz 30 arrived today, and I'm incredibly happy with it. It's from the second 2023 batch. In person, the Momentum Sea Quartz 30 looks like all the photos I had seen online. It also looks like an exact match (except for the logo) to the online images of the original Chronosport Sea Quartz--and I've looked at a ton of those over the years.

Note: reports from the first 2023 batch said those watches had an extremely tight bezel. The bezel on this watch is "about right", definitely not tight. I also spoke with another long-time Magnum fan who purchased a second batch watch. He says his bezel is the same as mine. I'm guessing they fixed that issue with this second batch.

If you like the Chronosport Sea Quartz 30, I HIGHLY recommend ordering one of these bad boys when they're back in stock.

Thanks for the review - I have a Chronosport that I bought on eBay, and I like it, but I don't use it like a tool watch -- I don't submerge it or wear it while doing anything that might break it. I'm adding one of these to my wishlist.

Just one more watch, right?

Owning both would be really cool. And I don't think you'll regret it, Eagle. The Momentum Sea Quartz makes a great daily driver that you can take anywhere. Looking forward to diving with mine soon.

Cheers!

I received my Momentum Sea Quartz last week and I'm very happy with it.

Coincidentally I also received my copy of Larry's book "Aloha Magnum" last week too. And as I've seen mentioned in another thread, it was autographed (thanks Larry (and Nancy))!
