Thats what I did, but I rented one first. Youre right, its difficult learning something like this at an older age, im 55!... Sure is fun though...

The Take Time To Be A Dad radio spot (with the Selleck voice overs) features a father playing a saxaphone poorly to encourage his son learning the sax is very clever and I wonder if the ad agency did this on purpose or by coincidence..........

In the episode "Tran Quoc Jones", Tran Quoc really plays the sax. You can see how he uses the octave key with his thumb when he hits the high notes. You can tell this kid has had some lessons.

It's a done deal. My wife picked me up an also sax for my 40th this past weekend. Very excited to start figuring out how to play it!

Practice with the "C " scale first. Learn the fingerings! Great videos on youtube.
