Oh, I agree that the wish fulfilment angle is very strong. Having been re-watching the show over the last few months, I've taken the opportunity to take the kids to the beach just so I can go and swim in the sea! No easy task in the uK, believe me!

Thank you for seeing it "my way." I must add that now, I watch it for the stories and to enjoy the beauty of the Hawiian Islands. What a difference 20+ years make!
Yea, the show had the package: TS for the ladies to watch, gorgeous lady guest stars for the men, Hawaiian scenery to be enjoyed by all, and wonderful friends enjoying life together after living through hell-on-earth in Vietnam. Who needs reality on TV. We get enough of that every day!
I agree with James. Season 1-3 are good ones with strong episodes, and like James said.. there was a sort of a dipp in season 5-6. I think season 7 was great. I almost finished season 8, and I think this is a short... but powerfull season.
Unfinished Business was a very good episode that made my whole family (mom, dad, brothers) watching the tv. They arent fans of the show, or watch it so... And TS is acting so very good in that episode.

I told him that was ridiculous."
