Re: Forever in Time (8.5)
Continuing my first time viewing of season 8 and this one came up tonight. Initially this had “Curse of the King Kamehameha club” vibes but then it went off on a left turn after that. TM’s high waisted trousers did make me chortle somewhat in the last act but I should remember this aired around 35 y...

Re: Tigers Fan (8.4)
I saw this episode for the first time today and aside from Higgins line about the Albanian Countess I found the whole story dull and unengaging. It doesn’t help that the opening scene centred around baseball, unfortunately a sport I find deeply tedious (yes I know - this from a cricket fan), finishi...

Re: Find Me a Rainbow (6.18)
My first viewing of this episode today and I found it slightly underwhelming. Highlights - Lydia, the pleasant beach “scenery”, Higgins getting splattered in the face with caviar and no Carol Baldwin. Lowlights - the final scene where the lost child turns up was rather jarring and unlikely, a repeti...

Re: Way of the Stalking Horse (6.17)
I saw this episode for the first time today (only about 40 years after it was originally shown) and as many have noted it stands head and shoulders above most of season 6 (Kona Winds is a more than decent episode admittedly). A good, dark and atmospheric episode with a plot twist - something that ev...

To add, the original jazzy theme wasn’t just from the pilot. A shortened version was used in the first eight or so episodes, following the revving Ferrari. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JumPsCbB7rQ I always enjoyed the original theme in the pilot, particularly because the credits very creatively in...

Re: Should I move to Oahu?
Almost 5 years later and I'm going to update my own thread and the idea of moving to the islands. I ran the numbers several times. In the end I wasn't willing to pay 2 million plus for a new and modern house, or compromise with something old. The left wing politics are the other factor that kept me...

I always found Kim Miyori rather delectable. Of course, any woman with really red lipstick gets my engine firing on all cylinders. http://www.magnum-pi.com/wp-content/uploads/magnum-pi-naiades-27.jpg Of course, they would need to be 100% pure female that doesn't steal luggage. https://upload.wikime...

Re: Best "Silly" Episode
I'm partial to "Tropical Madness" (2.7) - the funniest/silliest bit is Devon Ericson's excrutiating english accent - an appalling effort as bad as the benchmark for bad english accents, Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins (or as he says it "Maori Pawpins"). :D There's not too much genuine peril in that ep...

Re: 40th Anniversary Watch Party
I'm running a little behind on my viewing, but my boys and I are going camping this weekend so we'll take along the episodes to catch up, and probably Operation: Silent Night... and I forget if there was another Christmas episode. I can only think of “Thank heavens for little girls..and big ones to...

I took some pictures of yours truly at Whitby (where Cook the explorer was based and set sail from to discover Hawaii, Cook Islands etc..) today - if anyone could PM me an e mail address I can send them to if there’s interest in seeing them posted here.

Re: For UK fans
Strangely, ITV4 has got to Season 5, episode 6 (Fragments) and will then be going back to the beginning again (Don't eat the snow in Hawaii) - that's annoying !
I understand whole seasons may not be shown (if they do not have the rights to show them), but why stop mid way through season 5 ?

Re: 40th Anniversary Watch Party
I see, so Saab was trying to be different and safer (maybe?). I'd be curious to see the statistics for car accident injuries caused by the key. Of all things... I mean if it's a serious crash then I would think the key would be the least of my worries. But it would have to be a pretty serious crash...

Re: 40th Anniversary Watch Party
I remember a college buddy’s older brother had a turbo version. It had the ignition key in the center console if I remember correctly. That’s about all I remember about it other than it was black. That's right, just behind the handbrake; it was so that in the event of a front end collision the key ...
