Re: Murder 101 (5.8)

We need a WAV of Danny saying, "Like, I'm actually motivated," on the audio page. Made me laugh out loud. I'm a big fan of this episode - one of the best of the lighthearted ones. I also like that it features Marilyn Jones, always a welcome presence for me in 1980s TV shows. She has a real sun...

Re: Paradise Blues (4.15)

I fall on the "like it" side of the debate concerning this ep. No, "Paradise Blues" is not a classic Magnum, but it's a good, solid, engaging one. I had no problem with the much-disliked Mangione & his horn scene with TM, lol. Okay, I found a mind-bending flub in this episode (and I wish I could do ...

Re: Re:

Could anyone help me with the name of the classical piece that's playing in the background in the scene where Higgins is getting ready for dinner carrying a centerpiece, just before they cut to Magnum getting ready to watch the baseball? Thanks! It's Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata . It sounded to me ...

Re: One More Summer (2.17)

I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but this episode seems to have been strongly influenced by the 1979 Nick Nolte football movie North Dallas Forty . Wild parties, painkillers, at least one beast-like player (Sromosky here, John Matuszak in North Dallas), lounging in hot tubs dialogue scenes...

Re:

I'm confused about one thing. Maybe someone could clear it up for me. When Magnum and Rick find the body of Dr. Kessler with his throat slashed, Rick suggests that the Mossad agents did it. But it's not until a minute or so later that Magnum realizes that Lena and Saul are the real Nazis and that u...

Re: This Site Is Just Too Much Fun!

Yes, this is probably my favorite message board to visit. The people here are so nice, funny and respectful of others. Unlike a lot of the whining and squabbling that goes on in other forums I frequent!

In addition, right after naming "Sunrise pt. 2" as her second favorite Magnum, she says, "Wait, reverse that," placing it as her favorite (as if just remembering that the awesome badass moment occurs right at the end of pt. 2.) The guys behind "Psych" must be true Magnum fans to get that detail right!

McShane had also been prominent in THE LAST OF SHEILA, a hit movie from 1973.

Was anyone else reminded of Magnum the way the film opened with an offscreen narrator musing on the notions of paradise? (Although I don't think TM ever said "paradise can go f itself." )

might be a flub - i noticed this when i found the video section of this site and watched the original airing end credit sequence. Devon Gaurd, a small player who appeared i think in 3 other magnum episodes (the look, who is don luis..., and the sixth postion) ....never appears in resolutions II.......

Very enjoyable ep! I was intrigued by Robin mentioning the possibility of Ian Mackerras flying in from England. That would have made a great episode with Peter Davison in Hawaii! :)

I found it curious that the natives who chase Magnum and co. in this episode always seem to have sparkling clean yellow outfits. They live in the wild and, although they obviously wash their clothes it seems that they have access to some kind of detergent in order to get their clothes so clean. I a...

So the Big Lebowski is Magnum's stepdad! :P I don't mind that we only learn about Frank and Joey at this late point. When watching the series the first time, these are facts about Magnum that we keep learning - that deepen his character. And then when rewatching all 8 seasons, we can place these fac...

One element I really like is Magnum, travelling from airport to airport trying to track down Mac – each airport is clearly the same set, just with a different poster on the wall, changing with each city visited. It is tongue-in-cheek things like this that made the series so fun. I haven’t a clue wh...

We MUST have an audio file of the painter's "Whoa-oh-ohhh" in the last scene. Low humor, but I laugh myself silly at it! :P A little late, but I've finally added this to the Audio page. Absolutely hilarious! Would make for a great ringtone. :) http://magnum-mania.com/Audio/whoa_whoa.wav And I'M ove...
