As many of you know, a Star Trek prequel had been rumored and apparently in the works (off and on) for several decades. I'm glad that They waited until the time was ripe -- many of the original cast members were deceased, so it was clearly necessary to recast. I could raise a few minor quibbles, but...

I'm still holding out for a small screen release with the original cast! Yeah, me too! Ten or fifteen years ago, I read somewhere -- TV Guide ? -- that They wanted to do a Magnum TV movie, but TS was holding out for a theatrical movie, and had a plot in mind, and a particular writer. I don't recall...

... the shootout scene with Icepick is ridiculous. Everyone is taking cover behind desks and overturned couches...against Uzi fire? Yeah...ummm no... Maybe they made couches differently in the 80s? During his years with British Intelligence, Higgins apparently developed a strong sense of self-prese...

Thanks for that link, Styles! I keep seeing references here to Rick's blog, but had never gotten around to following up. Looks like I've got some reading to do!

Re: Echoes of the Mind (1) (5.1)

Doc Ibold: This is nothing. I was hunting up in Utah, must of been '68 or '69.... I'm not sure whether this is a correction or not. Most people probably do think it's "must of," so this could very well have been in the script, and/or Doc could very well have said it this way. But if the script writ...

Been there, done that! I once ruined an entire joke by getting the punch line backwards.

[quote=""J.J. Walters (Episode Guide, Quote 1, end of first paragraph)"]Somehow, I know I will see you again. I hope that you and your mama are well and happy. That's OK. I was probably 40 before it occurred to me that roughly half of all lady bugs are actually gentleman bugs. There are some things that we just never happen to think about.

Thanks for the Episode Guide credit!

Re: Innocence... A Broad (8.3)

Thanks for all the local info, Tuan Vu!

Maybe no one has mentioned this so far simply because it's too obvious, but the episode title is clearly a take-off on Mark Twain's book title Innocents Abroad (about his travels in Europe and the Mediterranean).

When my niece got married, the groom had secretly made special arrangements ahead of time. When the minister asked him "Do you take this woman," he thoughtfully rubbed his chin and scratched his head while the PA system played the "Final Jeopardy" music. After a long pause, he finally said, "I do." ...

She agreed with no fuss so if it's available that's where we'll be. Photos will indeed be posted. I take it the price is "reasonable" -- or else that money is no object? Looking forward to those photos! (The usual wedding pictures will be nice, but you do realize that what we're really hoping for i...

.... over the years, a big portion of the "magnum women" were quite annoying .... Burny, I definitely agree about many of the women that Magnum seemed attracted to -- I couldn't see what it was all about. But then that's sort of like life, isn't it? Say, you get friendly with someone at work, so yo...
