Speaking of snooker... I do remember a Magnum episode where Higgins is watching a snooker tournament like we would a Super Bowl or other big game here in the states. I didn't know that. Thanks also Doc for naming the episode. I remember when pool halls, legions, and basments in Canada were a sea of...

Syndication just went off the air last week. I was watching that and the odd Season 1 episode in sequence on DVD up to then.

Now I'm going to pick up the pace with the DVDs.

I remember this episode well from the early syndication years. The Ironman event is unforgettable. I dig that early no nonsense bike helmet that TS wears...And doesn't his biking shirt look way cooler than the modern spandex body suits ala Tour deFrance (and every wannabe in my neighbourhood). I lov...

I have to disagree Luther, but I just watched this and did the frame advance thing (geez I'm getting anal or obsessed or both). Although some frames have glare, some do show the hole or a cosmetic one in the front passenger side of the windscreen as Louise brings up the car. In the next series of sh...

Styles, are you a transplanted Canuck? I'd risk exposure to your family in Niagara, because both WalMart and HMV do not seem to be restocking the series. Walmart's website only lists season 1. The store is in the south end at Welland and VanSickle St. Somehow I think they may be burning off old stoc...

Congrat... :D Now you'll fall in the Magnum PI trap...endless hours watching a marathon and hinking .."OK, if I go to bed now, I'll get in 6 hours of slepp, then again..the episodes are only like 50min long so I could squeeze one more before I go to sleep." LOL ENJOY!! I know what you mean. Up to n...

The Motherload

Who says you can't go back? This Spring I bought Season 1 for 15 bucks (CDN) at HMV (Canadian store like f.y.e. in US). That was before I knew of this site. I was loving it so much that I went back for the other seasons. They were long gone. Then I joined up here and read a post that Wal Mart also h...

...I wouldn't say that the series "jump the shark."...So overall, I consider the first 4 seasons to be far superior to the last 4.....I have nothing good to say about season 6. Grundle sums it up nicely. This is the essence of my original point that the series 'turned' for me, while remaining watch...

tangcameo, I noticed it was gone as of last Monday. It hadn't been on the weekly slot for very long. Bummer. To make things worse, the weekend slot is gone too. It was on weekends for as long as I can remember. Your 5 am western is actually 'The Rifleman' which is a good show for this channel; the 5...

Those quality issues sound very disappointing. Are you sure they are legitimate original copies or could they be illegal copies? I know I once bought a Bruce Lee movie from chinatown that had all kinds of problems. Being Italian, is it possible that you read Spanish? If you are really desperate, I s...

Again, I'll say it! It is so much fun to revisit these episodes months or years after seeing one for the first time. They are just as enjoyable or maybe more so! I second that Jaybird. I missed the early years in first run (and I've been kicking myself since 1986 when I finally started to watch). I...

That reminds me that I had a dead ringer shirt for the navy blue one Magnum wears with the white collar. It's like a rugby shirt with short sleeves. Even if I could dig it up, I doubt it'd fit.

I like your idea of a sticky with the 'stuff' you own and/or success at tracking down items

Great avatar of a young John Hillerman, Higgy-baby !! I hear that he was a regular on the Ellery Queen series with Jim Hutton but haven't figured out how to watch the episodes. My guess is that the series happened when Mr Hillerman was about the age that he is in your avatar. Very dapper!! :) Thank...
