Re: The Tom Selleck Thread

Though I did like those scenes in the cornfield - it was nicely shot. I felt sorry for that poor slug-like caterpillar that got chewed up by the robot. That wasn't "special effects" - that poor guy died for real. But actually... I've killed many bastard caterpillars that ate my broccoli plants last...

Re: So you're a Magnum fan? Then what kind of car do you drive?

About 2 years ago, I sold my 2003 VW Jetta 1.8T, and now I have a 2013 VW Jetta TDI. Both were silver w/ black leather interior... old one was a manual transmission, new one has the DSG. Not exactly a Magnum car, but at least it's a VW, right? :magnum: :D My "Robin 2" car is a 2011 Jetta 2.5L, blac...

Re: So you're a Magnum fan? Then what kind of car do you drive?

Due to overwhelming nonexistent demand by the good people of Magnum-Mania! I decided to give in and post a picture of the Swedish supercar mentioned above. The picture was taken shortly before midnight and believe it or not the driveway had been shoveled and the car cleared of snow three times yest...

Re: So you're a Magnum fan? Then what kind of car do you drive?

The only way I'll be able to get a Ferrari is to get a scale model. Same here, something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Model-Car-Scale-1-43-Best-Model-Ferrari-308-GTS-vehicles-diecast-Coll/333876165355?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20201210111314%26meid%3D6d...

Re: Where does the time go?

Sad in a way, but all things considered she looks good. It's not just her appearance that was sad. She probably looks fine for her age (though definitely not as good as when young). It's the fact that she's selling herself for an "old person product" - even worse, for a pharmaceutical company. But ...

Re: The Tom Selleck Thread

I just recently saw the movie RUNAWAY from 1984. What are people's thoughts on it? I thought it was pretty good. Liked the killer robots idea. Selleck was good, his female partner VERY HOT (hotter than Kirstie Alley whom he seemed to be more interested in) Yes, exactly. I thought Cynthia Rhodes was...

Re: Where does the time go?

I thought this was another annoying SPAM thread, promoting penis lengtheners or something, then I recognized Erin Gray.

How sad. It reminds me of "Ma" from Little House on the Prairie doing elderly bath tub ads.

Re: Operation: Silent Night (4.10)

With every year sitcoms became more and more unwatchable. No heart, no soul, cheap laughs. Brain-dead on arrival. The only sitcoms I could watch in the last few decades were British sitcoms - and even they died off around 2005. Coupling and The IT Crowd were funny. (though Coupling could be a bit t...

Re: 40th Anniversary Watch Party

Even the biggest ball-peen hammer couldn't fix my DVD player. Believe me, I tried. I used every kind of hammer I've got, then started with the punching and slapping (closed fist, open hand slap, Karate chop) - nothing worked. I got out a screwdriver to repair it properly, but decided it "wasn't mach...

Re: A COVID discussion

MKB, This is completely off topic for this thread, which was also completely of topic for the John Hillerman thread where it began. Something popped into my head very recently because you told me you were from PEI, and I just remembered to ask you. I had a conversation at a party at least 2...

Re: A COVID discussion

I find it too exhausting to engage in hyper partisan conversations these days. I know what you mean. That's why these days I just make a brief point and only defend it in a half-assed way. :D I'm not partisan though. I don't support any political party or bother with "left" vs. "right" nonsense. As...

Tom and my birthday today (I share the date with him). 76 for Tom. 50 ( yikes that's hard to type ) for me. Happy Birthday Tom! Pretty sure we both wish we were still FORTY. https://i.ibb.co/XZJjc2j/birthday.jpg Happy birthday... although I'm not sure "happy" is the correct word to use when you rea...

Re: The John Hillerman Thread

You get this alphabet soup of LGBTQ and whatever other letters they want to throw in. I'm going to insist on another letter being added. Yes, that's right - I'm coming out soon. I've hidden long enough. I've decided that I identify as a.. Ferrari 308. I've always felt this way. My "pronoun" will be...

Re: The John Hillerman Thread

My point is that many people just follow orders blindly. Case in point - my wife and I were in DC in the fall and we were walking around the Capitol grounds outside and other places where there were very few passersby. Yet people were passing us and giving us these wild-eyed stares as if we just st...
