Re: Hawaii Five-O: Any Fans?

I haven't seen the Ina Balin(she was aces in The Comancheros)episode of Magnum in a very long time where she is a Uni professor but I recall that wasn't any great shakes either. I'm not a big fan either of "Dead Man's Channel" (I actually prefer the season opener "Billy Joe Bob" but I guess I'm in ...

Re: Home From the Sea (4.1)

"Home From the Sea (4.1)" captures the poignant essence of returning home after a journey, weaving emotions of nostalgia and relief. The imagery beautifully portrays the familiarity of land and the embrace of loved ones, contrasting with the vastness of the sea left behind. Through delicate prose, ...

Re: 40th Anniversary Watch Party

"Let the Punishment Fit the Crime" was last week. Another solid episode. Chris Mitchum was kind of wasted in a rather small role (does he even say a single word?) but he did have a pretty impressive drag-out fighting with Magnum. "A female Magnum Mania poster used to share quite a number of the articles here, I can't think of her name offhand, it's too bad she no longer posts." That'd ( probably be "Rembrants Girl"...and yea, she knew where/how to find things! Wouldn't surprise me if she checks in here once in a while...

Re: Hawaii Five-O: Any Fans?

According to an Nov.23, 2023 article in the Honolulu Star by Jane Smith - "The show’s protagonist, Steve McGarrett, portrayed by the legendary Jack Lord, was loosely based on a real-life HPD detective named Chang Apana. Apana was known for his tenacity and dedication to solving crimes, and his infl...

Re: It Got By The Censor/In Jokes

I Dream of Jeannie, "My Master, the Author," Season Two Episode 16. At the very start of the episode Jeannie and Major Nelson enter an art gallery. Jeannie spies a painting and dashes over to examine it more closely, exclaiming - "Oh look master. It is an original 'Ansara'." Barbara Eden's husband ...

Re: Any drummers out there who love the original series drum tracks?

I don’t know the answer, but somehow feel he used the name as Lieutenant Freebairn Smith in one of his reminiscences about the war. Could be off on that though.

Warren Buffet who I think is Jimmy’s uncle once said that he could have learned a lot from Jimmy when it came to investing. Jimmy had several Restaurants chains , Land shark beer , a string of retirement communities and authored more than a few books and even wrote a play . I don’t know if Jimmy ha...

Re: No More Mr. Nice Guy (4.13)

Just a little more than a decade before MPI debuted, the network standard was 26. That was on a typical 7 day shooting schedule per episode. And just a decade before the 26 episode standard it was 39 episodes per season!!! Just check out BONANZA in its early years or any other western or dr...
