Wow! Lots of replies on this thread. I just want to throw this in.....Lanikai Beach, just down the road, has been losing sand for a number of years now. Ten or so years ago, there was ample beach in front of many homes as you proceed from Kailua/Lanikai area down the road to Waimanolo towards Diamon...

I'm not sure but I beleived there were a few skis. I know one was a Hayden, the original. It really is a great sport but very frustrating to get to where you can actually go out into the ocean, even when it is relatively calm. It takes a few months of persistence. If you ever make it to Oahu, stop b...

http://www.artist2.com/mpi.html One of his rings sold on eBay about a year ago, maybe late 2008 or early 2009. If I recall correctly the listing went through 3 cycles with the price getting lower each time. It finally sold for about $600. I had to use alot of restraint to keep from hitting the "Buy ...

I have to add, most recreational skis don't use a bow fin. The bow fins aid mostly in getting out through surf. You probably won't be paddling out thru the surf anytime soon! Modern skis weigh from under 18#s to about 35# depending upon the layup. Most paddlers advise getting a stable model and prep...

The surfski is not a Futura. Futura doesn't actually manufacture skis but has deals with a few firms that do and just puts his decals on them. Huki out of West Sacramento manufactures most of Futura skis. The ski used by TM is a Hayden modified to fit TS's 6'4" frame. The fins on the front are calle...

I really did not anticipate this episode becoming one of my favorites. However, I gave it a 9.5 surprising even myself. I thought the acting was superb. The interactions between TM and Higgins were splendid. The humor was there as was the cinematography. Entertainment value was excellent! Just a gre...

For a spot to eat in the Waikiki area, I'd recommend Ono Hawaiian Foods. Very "local" Hawaiian food. Small, Cash only. Get there early. 726 Kapahulu Ave which is the main thoroughfare from Waikiki Beach to H1, 7 blocks up from the main drag. Steve, I guess transexuals are a common site. "Mahu" is th...

Yes there are a number of annoying characters. Maybe that is why we term them "characters." However, I cast my vote for Luther. How TM ever put up with him I'll never understand.

Well, I stopped by on October 12th and 13th. It was great driving on the highway and stopping by all the filming locations. I walked out onto the pier but TC must have been off flying a client around the islands. Took a peak inside the gate but couldn't see much. Above the fence was green netting ef...

It looks like a Paradise Found Star Orchid. The color comes in dark navy or black background and I think is available new or on eBay. The older or "vintage" aloha shirts all seem to run a size smaller than what you get today. A medium today would be a large or even extra large on a vintage Paradise ...

This is a fav of mine because of the Vietnam war connection and the psychological stress it placed on many vets. The episodes that deal with war issues add a note of believablity to the series. It is this believability that gave TM a real depth of character and endeared him to many fans. Without it ...

Watched this just the other night. It was "pretty good" No complaints, entertaining as expected. Honestly, though, if Olivia really wanted to kill her husband, she could have figured out a better way to go about it. Another thing, how could TM have any free time? It occurred to me that when the char...

The beaches on that side of the island are losing sand. In Lanikai, next to Kailua, sand had to be trucked in to save what is left of the beach. Some of the "beachfront"homes only have a beach at low tide. I would guess that the estate has the same problem. When I am there in 2 1/2 weeks I will chec...
