Yes, like that Ivan, although the one on the Carlsson is even bigger (I think) and the o...

Re: 40th Anniversary Watch Party
...But I love old classic automobiles. Heck, they don't even have to be classic. If I see a 1986 Mazda 626 on the road I get a flood of nostalgia because I used to see them everywhere in the early 90s.... I feel the same way about the Saab 900's with the whale fin tail, a car of individualistic cha...

Re: 40th Anniversary Watch Party
I think the car is a Grand Prix racer, Bugatti. If I recall, it was a replica though. It was a pretty good choice for a flashy sports car of that era, and Ferrari didn’t exist as a car company yet, just Enzo the racing driver. I wonder if Enzo ever drove a Bugatti. I think he drove for ALFA at one ...

Re: 40th Anniversary Watch Party
This is one of my favourites and I often put this one on when I want something to cheer me up - the scene where TM wakes up and confronts Higgins on the lawn is hilarious and another appearance for Anne Lockhart (I will always think of her as Lt Sheba from classic Battlestar) in the series, although...

Re: Rest in Peace, Her Majesty the Queen
Most people only giving that portrait a cursory glance in episode would assume it was QEII as did I !Aloha Friday wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 3:41 am I'd bet the production staff probably didn't know that wasn't the queen. I had always assumed the portrait was of Queen Elizabeth.

Re: Rest in Peace, Her Majesty the Queen
I think it is QE II. I’d always thought it was the Queen albeit when she was in her 30’s. I’m not certain, but I thought someone identified her as the Queen Mum many years ago. I do remember a post on a episode thread where someone had concluded it was the queen mum. Not sure which episode though b...

Re: Rest in Peace, Her Majesty the Queen
I’m reminded of that portrait of hers by his safe at Robin’s Nest.
The news came out around dinner time today - she has been the Queen all my lifetime. It’ll be a different world tomorrow with Charles III on the throne.
RIP your Maj.

Re: Smaller Than Life (4.3)
Maybe this isn't such a good first post for me on here but regarding this episode I feel it must be said: Nope. No, No, No. Sorry, not a fan. Magnum's convenient typos on that magical wireless battery operated computer: no. And so on... (mirror contraption adjustments eye-balled and successful on t...

Re: For UK fans
Does Higgins actually say "you did nothing wrong" ? I don't remember. I seem to recall Higgins just reassuring TM that they (the Nazis) were all equally bad. That there were no small fish. In other words - don't feel too bad about the Greenbergs (or whatever their real names were), they were Nazis ...

Re: For UK fans
I don't know why it's so difficult to understand what TM is sulking over. Even if he didn't shoot her, come on, he was good friends with 2 sweet elderly people who turned out to be murderous Nazis! You think TM shouldn't be phased by that?? Of course he would be. Anyone would. For crying out loud -...

Re: For UK fans
Also in "Never again..never again" we won't see what exactly happened to Lena. ITV4 aired this episode today and as expected the final few scenes make no sense with the editing out of the gunshot fired at Lena. You get Lena saying "I guess it finally is.." with an angry defiant face, a shot of TM, ...

Re: Season 1 General Discussion
I think Higgins is very much laughing in mockery of Magnum in that scene, which seems less jolly and more mean spirited to me. Magnum’s look in response shows his displeasure with being laughed at. True, Higgins showed no such laughter in the pilot and remained stern, but the China Doll scene seems...

Re: Season 1 General Discussion
Another thing I noticed watching China Doll was how Higgins character had become more jolly all of a sudden. In the pilot he cut quite a stern figure but on hearing TM was Mai Lings “protector” he laughed as heartily as a favourite Uncle. Obviously this is more of the character fleshing out I referr...
