Re: On the Fly (7.15)

Was Magnum always in to comic books? More often, we heard about Magnum's love for detective novels and film noir, but I can see the love for comics as part of his making up for growing up early from the war, etc. Also, detective comics would definitely appeal to him. More understandable than him tr...

Hey Rembrandt's Girl! :D I read it last week at work. She should've gotten the whole cover IMO. :P Thanks! :)

Also, Stephanie Dunnam was delightful and all but did anyone else think she did not do a particularly good job of portraying a deaf person? IME deaf people do not have the same pitch and timbre of voice that hearing people do. There were also instances of her knowing what people were saying even if...

This seems to be a question of citizenship more than anything, kidnapping American citizens would obviously be wrong even for the right reasons but these two were not citizens. Lena and Saul were illegal refugees posing as citizens under fake names and identities. If I recall they did not immigrate...

Diane Lane was in The Outsiders with Patrick Swayze, who was in Dirty Dancing with Jerry Orbach, who guest-starred many times on Murder, She Wrote with Angela Lansbury, starting before "Novel Connection" and "Magnum on Ice".

I always saw it as David producing mostly B-movies but also having some higher-brow output (like Di Laurentiis), which wasn't uncommon back then. Still, it's funny to think about in light of the "Higgins is Robin" question.

Re: One Picture is Worth (7.3)

I saw this episode recently and it was on a channel here in the UK where repeat programmes sometimes have a sign language interpreter super imposed on screen - coincidental given the guest lead. There was an odd portion when Linda was sign-ing to Higgy and the interpreter stopped moving his hands a...

Re: Magnum P.I. quotes you still use in everyday conversatio

Surprisingly, Magnum quotes don't creep into my vocabulary like they should, but two Higgins ones come to mind for possible use: "Have you gone irrevocably, inconceivably mad?!" and "Because that... is the order of the universe!"

Doesn't he pretty much take over the production of everything he's into? I seem to recall every society he's a part of, he is either the head of it, on the board of directors, or the chairman of a committee. Obviously a believer in "This will not be done right unless I do it myself." Definitely, es...

Re: Let the Punishment Fit the Crime (4.17)

I didn't especially like Higgins being on the verge of being outright cruel to the ladies in the production. It seemed out of character for him. He told Agatha he was nervous about getting the play exactly right to impress Sir Cedric. JQH is always at his worst whenever he's nervous about something...

Also, someone posted that Hillerman looked good in the light-colored suit, and that he hadn't worn it in other episodes? Or something to that effect. He wore a light suit later, at the end of Letter to a Duchess...I'm still working through this season, so I can't speak to other times. Er... not a f...

Re: The Elmo Ziller Story (2.21)

This episode was tons of fun and well deserved a sequel, which it certainly sounded like they planned to do. Like with "Thank Heaven for Little Girls", it's very strange to not see the perp apprehended for their bigger crime. (It happened in "Deja Vu" too, but with Duncan Scott it made sense, given...
