I guess there was a song in Germany, mostly sung at "Bierfests", can`t remember it all, but it goes something like "there is no beer in Hawaii, there is no beer, that`s why we drink it here, our beer, we drink it here..." Heh. I wonder if this song is closely related to the polka song that we sing ...

Hey gang. I've been recording Arli$$, a former HBO show which is now airing on one of the ESPN channels. Recently I saw an episode that featured Roger in it as one of the major characters. I almost didn't bother watching this episode! Thank goodness I decided to check it out before deleting it! He h...

I remember watching this show when it aired. My recollection is that it was pretty sharply written, and I thought it had a very talented cast.

I'll probably get this set; I'm sure it will be chock full of 80's zeitgeist.

I, too, was puzzled by the cancellation of Las Vegas. Although I personally thought it wasn't a very good show, it did have okay ratings, and I believe that its numbers improved slightly when TS became a cast member. My guess is that maybe the show was expensive to make relative to the number of eye...

I like the map idea, since it would help fans who get a chance to go to Hawaii and who may wish to do a Magnum Tour. Maybe you could make it so that pop-up boxes open at key locations on the map which could show both screen caps from the relevant episodes, and fan pictures as well. This would be a l...

He's made some legal/political thriller movies for television that I've liked: Broken Trust, Running Mates, and Reversible Errors. Then there's the romantic comedy, Love Letters. Also, I highly recommend all the Jesse Stone movies (also made for TV). Unlike some made-for-TV movies, these have very h...

Wow, that was a very interesting read. It was interesting to find out how much of TC was created by Roger. Thanks so much for posting the links. So THAT'S why there was never a Magnum movie. Universal kept changing hands, and each time the deal had to be built up again from scratch. (It's true, too....

I've read that the 1988 strike occurred at an unfortunate time from the perspective of the Writers Guild, as most television shows were finishing shooting their final episodes. By then, all episodes would have been written. (And remember, back then there were no new shows made for summertime; it was...

They did already have Larry and Roger appear on the show. I've been watching mostly because of Tom Selleck being in the cast, and at first I really thought it was an awful show, full of awful characters, who did awfully stupid things. Now I think it has slightly improved and I'm enjoying it more -- ...

Wow, I missed it, too. Is it just me, or is Vegas getting better? Perhaps I've gotten sensitized to the show. I started off watching it solely because of Mr. Selleck's presence, and was continually rolling my eyes at the stupid stories. Now I can't tell if my wits are addled, or if the show has gott...

Hee heee, this looks like fun. Medieval name: Brimavar Porn Star name: Charcoal Lewis (Astonishingly, that name would have to be shared by both of my brothers and my sister. Still, I think it could work for either gender. Goodness, I'm glad we didn't have a dog named Fido!) Star Wars name: Vesbr Vanil

Well...it IS possible for Hollywood to get a movie version of a TV show right. Think of the Addams family movies. I thought both of them got the characters and the atmosphere just right. But they're the only successful examples that come to mind. Oh wait, the Star Trek movies worked, too. However, m...

Well, I'd certainly be up for it, but it can be a touchy thing to do. On another fan group some of us started to write something, and the rules were that each person could only write one sentence at a time, and then someone else had to write the next one. The whole thing worked for about two paragra...

Also, for those of us who are still building our collection of the Selleck ouevre, The Gypsy Warrior is also airing on Sleuth, on 1/13. (Warning: IMDB users recommend this movie strictly for Selleck fans.)
