Good thing Magnum had VA benefits. However, it did seem that Magnum was always getting patched up by Doc Ibold, and I don't believe he worked for the VA.lutherhgillis wrote:Do you find it strange that despite being shot, wrecked, beat up, and such that Magnum was apparently able to get and afford health insurance?

Yes, Yes, Shiner Bock and Yeungling are two of my favorites and what I would consider my equivalents to Coops. As far as my equivalent to Old Dusseldorf, a beer that is harder to find and reminiscent of back home, I would say mine would be Labatt's Blue Light. You can find "Blue", anywhere here in ...

The other thing that sorta surprised me- Magnum Chewing tobacco! It was "RED MAN." The funny thing I thought about this was that they tried to hide the product name by covering up the "RED" (I think). I always wondered if you're going to go to the trouble to disguise the name of a product on your s...

It is strongly implied that Joey is the son of Katherine and Frank. Based on the home movies seen in "Going Home", Magnum appears to be about 7 or 8 years older than Joey.... http://magnum-mania.com/images/6_7_m_full.jpg (Magnum appears to be 12 or 13, Joey 4) Magnum was five when his dad died in 1...

Pearl Harbor and the Arizona is a must see. Also go to "Little Round Top." There were several scenes throughout the series that were shot there (Tran Quoc Jones). It provides an unbelievable vantage point overlooking Waikiki, the Punch Bowl, Diamond Head. I would also go to the Valley of the Temples...

Paging IslandHopper (and anybody else with military aircraft expertise). The following was recently emailed to me by a fellow MPI fan. Thoughts? For your info, following is with respect to identification of the aircraft wreck type per the Solo Flight episode. Recognition was particularly challengin...

I prefer the early episodes more. Beginning with season 6, I think, Magnum's character really began to evolve away from the 'carefree beach bum type' into a responsible adult who is concerned about his future (Hotel Dick; On the Fly; The Great Hawaiian Adventure Company; Resolutions). It's fun to li...

From the looks of that scene MPI could have ended before it even got started. I always thought that when they did driving stunts like that, the crew blocked off the roadway for several blocks (except for other stunt drivers), as we saw in the beginning of "Echoes of the Mind" where we saw the crew m...

Usually I think the U.S. tourists just remove the bands from the cigars in order to move through customs, and then they have the option of replacing the bands afterwards. I don't think you can take any box marked "Hecho en Cuba" though, so you'd have to leave that behind. --Sammy A friend of mine j...
