Re: Professor Jonathon Higgins
A couple corrections, first, from the Episode Guide: "Kengi the workman and Keo the maid are seen briefly at the estate. This is Keo's first appearance ] It must be an Oahu thing why they have so many British people. After all, it is not that far from England, only 7,239 miles, or a 14 hour flight....

Re: Paniolo (6.8)
Oh dear, this is a completely new episode to me and boy what a clunker ! A slow, dull, unengaging story with no highlights and with a western back drop which I find deeply tedious and I struggled to stay with it till the end. I noticed the writer was Jay Hugely, is it fair to say that he wrote a hig...

Re: Round and Around (6.6)
I saw this one again some six years after I originally commented on this episode: For some reason this is the latest episode shown over here in the UK on ITV4 before we go back to "Don't eat the snow in Hawaii" strangely enough. I concur with the view that there is cringeworthiness in the totally vi...

Re: The Hotel Dick (6.5)
The story itself is kind of interesting and I do look like Cleo's playfulness but Leslie's accent and delivery sounded a bit weird to me - can one of the boards Americans tell me where she's supposed to sound like she comes from in the US ? She is from Oklahoma which is immediately north of Texas. ...

Re: The Hotel Dick (6.5)
This is another episode I'm seeing for the first time (I think it's because by season 6 in it's original run I was at Uni and watched a lot less TV and spent time in lectures or drinking beer). It does look like one where TM is acting slightly out of character - that is punching a clock and working ...

Re: The Kona Winds (6.4)
This is one of those small number of episodes I have absolutely no memory of seeing before so in that way it's a rare treat. Aside from the surprise/twist ending Kona Winds shows how flawed a hero TM is. In the first 3 episodes of season 6 he has bedded a (very) recently widowed woman (Deja Vu) and ...

Re: Old Acquaintance (6.3)
I saw this one the other night straight after Deja Vu and it was a relief to see some blue sky and beaches again. Being a UK resident you can only see so much grey sky and rain. On the face of it Goldie should be an annoying character for me as in general I would find her politics tiresome and yet o...

Anyone know where the Higgins estate is? Can't be too far from London if Higgins drove there and back during daylight hours after the funeral. https://i.imgur.com/RSTRngD.jpg Front gates: https://i.imgur.com/hOWE84r.jpg Hi K.Hale.. Re: The Dark Side of Thomas Magnum?
My friend, what an amazing memory you must have. The issue must have bothered you as well to make a mental note of it. How else could you have retrieved that episode? I'd like to watch it but I'm watching in sequence or I try too. I'm somewhere in season two. I haven't watched since the Anniversary...

Re: The Dark Side of Thomas Magnum?
Neither, my friend, neither. I had to approach the subject as a ghost writer to maintain my objectivity. Actually I was much bothered by the issue I raised. So I started this thread for help but the solution came suddenly by the next day. I'm now at peace. (BTW, I thought of you when I used ...

Re: The Dark Side of Thomas Magnum?
GOT IT! 8) Dilemma solved! But no thanks to the MPI script writers! Here it is--the missing scenario that fell off the Director's desk: DIRECTOR'S COPY CBS PILOT #485-2046: Magnum PI : Episode 1 Rick & TC sworn buds relocate together in Hawaii. TM is still in the Navy stationed there. By the time h...

Re: No More Mr. Nice Guy (4.13)
Great post. I also loathe Carol.....but these Magnum Maniacs doubled down on their poor choices, making their defense of it all the more amusing. This is my third skate through MPI (the first was on it's original run in the '80s, the second when I found this site and saw it on reruns in the 2010's)...

Re: CBS Canceled the Reboot
Amazing it even lasted that long. 4 seasons, hell, hat was really generous of the studios. It's just like cover songs. Few ever come close to the originals. Fine wine can't be duplicated. It's that simple. I flogged myself to watch it ...... :magnum: You're a better man than me Mark, I barely got p...

Re: Let Me Hear the Music (5.18)
I saw this today and can only echo those who said Dennis Weaver plays a very likeable character. I am so done with hillbilly stereotypes that Hollywood bombard us with nowadays “Oooh, look at the unsophisticated, rustic bumpkins ! What a bunch of rubes” and it was a pleasant change not to have to pu...
