Re: Echoes of the Mind (1) (5.1)

hadn't seen this one in 30 years or so...........early Sharon Stone.....me-ow. One thing I would like to throw out..........if you are looking for the perfect Magnum script with no continuity, plot, or technical issues........it's not out there. As much as I love the series the one realization I hav...

Re: I Witness (4.21)

good episode to end the season......nothing too heavy handed. I wonder if that was a conscious choice because they obviously open season 5 with doozy.

Netflix

just became a subscriber and I have to say I am loving it. Now I'm watching Magnum after Magnum without changing a disc. One annoying thing I've noticed. Of course i had to sesrch for old tv shows and find that old ABC shows aren't there...at least all that I have looked for........and that they lea...

Re: BREAKING BAD

Watched last nights episode. WOW! :!: "Who is this? Tribal police?" The shoot out was very fake in that when the guy starts shooting the AA12 (full auto 12ga. shotgun) and Hank and his partner are not even hit. WTF? And the way Todd was holding his gun... even my mom said Todd looked like a total d...

Re: McConaughey turned down $15M for Magnum movie

it's fool's gold to do the movie. The actor is the character...and w/o him....you don't have a movie. You simply have a movie using names and places we are familiar with. Whatever the movie turns out to be.......it won't be Magnum PI......it will be some movie with a character of the same name. My g...

Re: Re:

I really liked Higgins' statement: "For the better one feels about oneself, the better the rest of the world looks." There's a lot of truth to that. Just like Magnum said in this episode, "It's kind of funny how the years can sometimes creep by on you..." When I saw this for the first time today, I...

Re: On Face Value (4.19)

I don't know what this does to the Magnum birthdate validity or not, but he mentioned to the gang sitting beachside that in 1956 he was 10 and went to a Tigers game in August............. This episode never seemed to register with me long ago and even now it seemed contrived. No way they would let M...

I liked this one.........a departure from the norm with Watson, errr, Higgins. Simple, enjoyable stand alone episode.

Re: Let the Punishment Fit the Crime (4.17)

back to rotation viewing............regarding the whole sniper on the hill and fight........why didn't he go back to the Ferrari? that wasn't written/edited well the fact he walked and hitchhiked. Yeah I get he had the concussion, but even going slow was a better alternative to the one they fed us. ...

Re: No More Mr. Nice Guy (4.13)

I didn't MIND Carol per se, or Kathleen Lloyd's portrayal of her.. It just seemed like she was sort of forced in to the series. I particularly wasn't fond of her hoodwinking Magnum in this episode, as you know he would have done it.. He just had other things to do, and would get around to it later ...

Re: Limbo (7.22)

just watched this one last night again..........it had been a long time. This was mostly a tremendous concept for the intended finale........with only one exception......one that was too big to overcome (killing Magnum). Here the writers were caught between worlds, the fictional world of the show an...

Re: Re:

This was a very memorable episode for me as a kid; I watched it the night it originally aired. I seem to remember knowing at the time that it wasn't the end of the series though; knowing that there was going to be an 8th season, and wondering how they were going to bring him back from the dead. Kno...

Re: Resolutions (2) (8.13)

well........got nostalgic and had to skip out of rotation and watch this on Netflix (DAMN YOU NETFLIX FOR THE TEMPTATION!). It brought back some good memories of the original airing I watched at college (Old Dominion)in Hampton Roads amongst friends. My memory held up pretty well on this one. Two si...

Re: Resolutions (1) (8.12)

watched it again for the first time since 1988...........and I agree about how the clues now line up better. I was of a different mindset already knowing how it turns out, so the attention to detail on other stuff was easier. I didn't like the way Maggie played Thomas, nor how he couldn't see thru h...
