This is a great episode and we get to see that Higgins is not one-dimensional and Magnum gets to play gallant hero, and lose the girl. But I want to know if Magnum finished 17th in the surf-ski race where did his nemesis Keke finish? In the study when Vivian and Jonathan are working on the books - l...

Another of Higgin's fathers offspring surfaces... to comic relief. JH must have a had fun playing these roles and he really got to exercise his voice talents. Looks like Pater Higgins, how to say, got around. Someone asked about the pineapple box? You could call ahead (or buy them right at the airpo...

I chuckled at this episode. Daisy is from Cincinnati, Ohio (since I live there) and I have no idea how she developed that accent in Ohio. Must have been a transplant! I'd forgotten that Annie Potts played in this episode and we finally get to to see Bob Minor (Rose). Poor TM gets a whoopin but he ge...

Albert Jeyte (makeup) runs a lodge
Albert Jeyte was a makeup artist working on Magnum, P.I. in the late 80s and ended up running a lodge of the Big Island. He and his wife Lorna have run the Kilauea Lodge since late 1986. http://www.staradvertiser.com/travel/20100627_Kilauea_Lodge_a_labor_of_love.html June 27, 2010 article

A pretty good take I think for 1983 on real events from 1942. There are some who do try to bury or forget the past, and those work hard to keep it alive. I worked with a guy who was a concentration camp survivor from Poland. I once asked him if he ever thought about writing down, or taping, what he ...

I gave this episode an 8 and most appear to agree. Not that great of a story - but opening with the 'wedding' is a shocker. Note that you never hear Magnum say 'I do' as someone from the groom's side blows their nose... Was it Higgins? :D Rob p.s Kathy McCullen who was "Mary Jane Lodato" played for ...

Just saw this one... What a hoot. Poor Higgins having to be to NICE to Magnum while being driving batty by Robin's guest! Reading the comments here I now know that the nasty secretary was TS ex (or ex-to be). Nothing like a little real anger on the set. I am glad though that I "picked up" Fritz Feld...

I did not remember much of the plot from the original airing in early 1983. But I did recall the discussion in the Ferrari when Tozan tells Magnum that he too is a samurai in his own way, the beautiful scene of the rising sun (did you notice how Rabbit Island looked like Mt. Fuji?), and the demonic ...

I think that this story really gives us a glimpse of the Vietnam experience and after. Not complete of course, but when Karen harmon and Higgins are in the study - well, their conversation is the core of the story. So do you think Magnum paid Karen her $20? Rob p.s. I worked with a Nam vet for a whi...

This was a great episode, IMO. There are 32 USS Arizona survivors interred aboard at least as of 2008. I can't post my photo of the left hand memorial wall on the memorial. But they are there. I think that interrments are made by scuba divers who place the urns inside the forward hull - not dropped ...

The switch from Borgnine to stunt actor in the lifts is so lame. At least they could have lightened Bob Minor's hair to match Borgnine. Sheesh! Ernest Borgnine plays his typical 'loveable tough-guy' character to a T. I'll bet they had a lot of fun on and off set. The stack of pineapple boxes at the ...
