Re: Magnum's "Gauguin" Painting
A little off topic, but..........Didn't the ship painting from Steve's office on original Hawaii Five-O appear on MPI at some point? I ask because I'm pretty sure I spotted it hanging over the file cabinet in the courthouse in season 1 of Andy Griffith.

Re: CBS Canceled the Reboot
I have to confess that I have never seen the reboot. For me, part of the charm of an iconic series is the way it captures the spirit of the times. For me, Magnum PI is the 80s. Nor can Tom Selleck be replaced. This is what one of our UK newspapers said when the reboot was first announced in 2017 an...

Re: If you could travel back in time ...
I would eliminate the jerk step-father (David Huddleston) plot and TM wouldn't have gone back to the Navy at the end.

Re: Obama tore down Robin's Nest with video
BTW, someone on this thread suggested that Obama wouldn't know the historical significance of the estate he bought??? Come on now. I have no doubt that he knows. I can't stand the guy, but I don't think he bought the estate to stick it to MPI fans. He bought it because it was in such a state of dis...

How many seaside mansions does B.O. need? He's already got one on Martha's Vineyard.

Re: All Roads Lead to Floyd (1.13)
Anyone notice when they were in the travel agency office, TM was standing in front of a poster of the World Trade Center towers. I found it ironic considering there is a print of the Two Towers in Frank Reagan's office on Blue Bloods. I just watched this one and I thought of the photo in Frank's of...

Re: Location of the King Kamehameha outdoor bar
My apologies for resurrecting an old thread. I've been wondering about the white wire chairs that were used at the King Kamehameha Club. I remember them from the '80s. Turns out, they are Rio armchairs made by EMU: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/473792823288447561/. Might make a nice addition to som...

Re: Most Annoying Character
Just saw David Huddleston in a Star Trek NG rerun (Again, think I wrote about this few years ago). So what popped into my head was he's my most annoying character* in Magnum, P.I. The Frank Peterson scenes almost get me angry. :x  Who did you find the most annoying? * Although I appreciate her...

I voted other because the last line of Home from the Sea is the most traumatic moment of the show for me.

Re: Newbies
I think that's the problem with today's shows. Everything is serialized and expected to lead somewhere. People keep watching to see "will they or won't they?" Will Miggy ( ) happen or won't it? Back in the day it was mostly standalone episodes. I suppose MPI was a bit of a rarity in that it ...

Re: What to watch next
I agree that the helicopter was cool. I just think Jan Michael Vincent was a lousy actor. I like Borgnine, but he wasn't enough.
