Manum was quiet a classy show wasn't it? First The Mikado and now Sherlock Holmes. Patrick McNee is always good value and a nice chance for John Hillerman to shine also. Is there a reason there were a few 'Magnum-lite' episodes this season?

Love this episode. It's my favourite next to LIMBO. Yes, it's contrived and it really doesn't need the 'Jeapordy' plotline but as a character study it's brilliant. The Higgins/TC relationship is great in this episode (I always liked the TC/Higgins stuff - they seem to have a lot of respect for each ...

When MPI became more grown up, it was less of an escape. The show, however, certainly remained strong. Oh, I agree that the wish fulfilment angle is very strong. Having been re-watching the show over the last few months, I've taken the opportunity to take the kids to the beach just so I can go and ...

I think the show managed to keep up a respectable amount of integrity over all 8 seasons. One of the things I like about the show, and how I feel it was integral in developing from the 'done-in-one' kind of shows that Aaron Spelling and Glen Larson did to the more interconnected, recurring character...

"The explosion in "DYSTS" was great in of itself, but you can clearly see that the car that was blown up was not a Ferrari." There was an episode of Starsky & Hutch were they blew up the Torino and it quite clearly weasn't a Torino. They duplicate paint job (the NIKE stripe) was really bad as well. ...

Speaking of Robin Masters, I have always wondered if a writer of "pulp novels" would aquire the kind of wealth that Robin Masters had. Don't forget Robin also had a number of his novels made into movies and a couple more optioned. Even if he had no creative control over the product, he was portraye...

[quote="James J. Walters"]Andy,

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your episode comments. Thank you for contributing to the discussions.

Thank you for creating the site in the first place. Who else would listen to me bang on about a 25 year old tv show?

Good episode with some interesting lightweight stuff for the characters amidst a pretty dark theme. The show was really good at balancing the dark stuff with the lighter character story arcs and this is why I think the show still stands up. The themes of the show are most unusual for a US Primetime ...

See, this is why I like this show. On any other series this Fagin rip off with a cute kid would have been saccharine enough to make my teeth ache, but on MPI it's an enjoyable, if lightweight, entry into the series. This is the very first episode of Magnum I ever remember seeing when it aired on Sun...

I'm going to have to buck popular opinion here and I say I really enjoyed this episode. Yes, the plot is hokey and stretches the suspension of disbelief until it screams for mercy, but the episode is so well put together. The editing between scenes with lines of dialogue overlapping works really wel...

Your husband is correct. In "Did You See The Sunrise?", when TC is telling Nuzzo that Magnum is a PI he calls him Thomas Sullivan Magnum. AFAIK this is the first time dialogue on the show confirms TSM's middle name.
