Re: Transitions (8.11)
I gave it a 9. Good story, action, comedy, really all the elements we enjoy in MPI, plus our final appearance of Luther Gillis. As a former fan of the St. Louis football Cardinals, I appreciated that Luther was going after "the scrungos from Phoenix who are trying to steal our football team." Well, ...

Re: The Great Hawaiian Adventure Company (8.9)
Other than the appearance of Lani [!!!!] the only thing good about this episode was the title. If they had just stuck with the premise of "TGHAC" and had a group of dorky tourists that TM and the gang were showing the islands with Sarah-the hot looking marketing exec of Paradise Airlines, who would ...

Re: Unfinished Business (8.8)
Not only of the the great MPI episodes, but truly an intense and powerful statement about the MIA's and the brotherhood of the men who fought for our country. TM realized his personal [and justified] vengeance against Quang Ki was secondary to the importance of hopefully opening the door for more MI...

Re: A Girl Named Sue (8.7)
I gave it a 7.5. Liked Carol better in "Rembrandt's Girl" episode. Thought they were working a bit too hard to get the laughs in this one. I did like her line when they were hiding from each other in the warehouse and she referred to TM as "a tall, guy with a mustache, average looking"...Selleck gav...

Re: Innocence... A Broad (8.3)
Good episode, reminiscent of an MPI from the first few years. No recurring characters in this one. As mentioned by others, the script borrowed heavily from "Born Yesterday" with Rita [Janis Ward] and Hatten [Ken McMillan] in the Judy Holliday and Broderick Crawford parts. Both did it very well. Jani...

Re: Home From the Sea (4.1)
Absolutely one of the best, most poignant and moving episodes of any tv show. I've seen this at least 6 times and it never fails to pack an emotional wallop at the end. A great story line that is mostly about Magnum, but also shows Higgins, Tc and Rick, all doing their own thing on July 4th, but all...

Re: The Aunt Who Came to Dinner (7.20)
Recently caught this on ENC, the only thing I had remembered was TSM's frustrations with the civil servants renewing his PI license. I think they had done this in another episode. It's not a typical episode, no big fights, shootouts, car chases, etc. It deals with Alzheimer's, although they don't be...

Re: J. "Digger" Doyle (1.17)
Yeah, agreed. Although a few more guest appearances from Digger wouldn't have hurt. With obligatory T & A exposure of Erin.Stelth wrote:For me, a woman "team member" would have ruined the show.

Re: How effective were The Lads?
It's something I've always wondered because it seems like intruders break into RN on a regular basis, without a bark. I have a large mastiff who keeps us safe from trash trucks going down the street, backyard squirrels or my neighbors walking their dogs, but then again I might have a friend just wal...

Re: Out of Sync (7.19)
My wife was watching part of this with me the other day on DVR and she said the episode didn't make much sense to her. I told I think...and by think I actually my guess is that when TSM is talking about commitment, he is meaning his #1 commitment is still to his client and their case. His relationsh...

Re: Laura (7.18)
"Laura" is one of the best of the MPI serious drama episodes. It's a dark, depressing theme, the rape and murder of a young girl. It's an excellent acting job by Sinatra, who was an excellent dramatic actor when motivated and away from some of the Rat Pack fluff he turned out in the 60's. Check him ...

Re: Forty (7.17)
The shot when TSM picks up Linda Lee's earring and the camera pans her up, as his eyes would, from her high heels, black nylons, slit dress, cleavage and then that incredible face is just incredibly hot. Magnum meets a lot of beautiful, sexy women but I don't recall another time when he's been so cl...

Re: Autumn Warrior (7.13)
Always enjoy seeing the Sgt.-Major in action. I guess the juvenile prison farm cancelled the work release program after this fiasco. TSM's behavior with Higgins being scheduled out of town reminded me of myself in high school or college years when my parents went out of town during the summer. Party...

Re: Novel Connection (7.9)
Never watched "Murder, She Wrote" I must admit Angela Lansbury is rather good in the role. I don't recall this episode, it's pretty good. Higgins is entertaining, as is TSM, with his "I don't really want to be on this case but my feelings will be hurt if you don't ask me" routine. I guess we've all ...

Re: A.A.P.I. (7.5)
Fun episode, virtually all MPI recurring characters make an appearance. I was waiting for Elmo or Paddy to show up. The ending in the hospital was a bit over the top-seemed like something you might see in a Zucker/Abrahams movie.
