Re: Glen Larson's Magnum pilot script
Those copycat shows only prove how much of Magnum's success was due to the unique cast.

Re: A Girl Named Sue (8.7)
Is this the only episode (so far) where Thomas blatantly uses his appeal to the opposite sex to garner information? I am referring, of course, to the scene with Julie Marsh at the marina. It seems out of character but having watched 150 episodes now I can't recall if he has done it before. Julie Ma...

Re: Dream A Little Dream (4.20)
In the end Magnum says "Maybe Thomas Wolfe was right, maybe you can't go home anymore. But it sure as hell is worth a try" as he holds her child. Are we supposed to believe they're back together? How come we never see her again?

Re: The Sixth Position (2.11)
Dark episode. Not in terms of content but rather in the technical sense. The day for night filtering , voice overdubbing, and DVD quality all combine to make this one of the less technically accomplished episodes. That's awful, and this is not the only time they did it. I know we cannot expect the ...

I think this episode gets too much stick. I see it a private joke. This is Magnum PI as Glen Larson initially conceived it - James Bond in Hawai'i.

Hi Marlboro, Excellent post, the response to the query of who would repeatedly be taken in by Rod, and you posting Rockford's photo made me laugh. When I watched this episode I assumed Margolin's character was supposed to be a wink to his Emmy winning Angel Martin role. I suspect the problem in any...

Re: Ki'i's Don't Lie (3.3)
'She was young, and pretty, and Harold...wasn't' Why didn't Harold get S&S to return the ki'i to the cave? He was obviously too ill to do it himself and he knew that having the ki'i in his hands would only make him sicker... It's also quite unlikely that the cops would let Higgins arrest 'Morgan Fai...

Re: Did You See the Sunrise? (1) (3.1)
This is still one of my favorite Magnum PI episodes, but stil it's not perfect. Besides the magical brainwashing bubble-gum, the idea of a Bulgarian agent looking exactly like Nuzzo, even after plastic surgery, and nailing him down to the voice and the accent is a bit far-fetched. Also the scenes wi...

Higgins on wheels:
'Death'
'Death'
'Death'
Anyone else noticed how TC turns up at the funeral with a girlfriend we never see before or after, not even during this episode?

Re: Basket Case (3.15)
I can't stand this episode or that Billy Ray Cyrus lookalike. It's the only episode I skip when I'm rewatching the show.
Impressive basketball skills by both Selleck and Mosley though. It's the only thing that comes close to redeeming this mess.

I love the noir atmosphere and the stormy weather in this one.
The hipnosis scene remined me of what a fine voice John Hillerman has.
Quote of the episode: 'You called me here to kill me too?'

What a beauty Marta DuBois was. I would have married her just to look at her all day.
