Re: The John Hillerman Thread
For those who haven't seen it, here's John in the Hawaii Five-O episode "A Stranger in His Grave". (Thanks to Rembrandt's Girl for pointing me to this in the Pahonu thread. :)) https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x53eiaq_hawaii-five-o-s10e23-a-stranger-in-his-grave_fun Edit: Here's John's other episod...

Re: Six Degrees of Magnum P.I. (Game)
For guest cast, Audie Murphy starred in World in My Corner with Barbara Rush , with Alan Hale Jr. in Destry , and with John Saxon , Joseph Wiseman , and Doug McClure in The Unforgiven . :) For main cast, Audie was in The Wild and the Innocent with Sandra Dee , who was in Portrait in Black with Antho...

Re: Six Degrees of Magnum P.I. (Game)
Barry Nelson was of course also in "Double Jeopardy". :) I found a few A&C connections that went to guest stars, i.e. Nancy Kelly and Patty McCormack, Marc Lawrence and Jill St. John, etc. but I can only think of a really long main cast connection. :P Abbott and Costello starred in Abbott and Costel...

Another one from Giuseppe... A boom mic is visible: http://magnum-mania.com/images/2_19_z.jpg This is interesting. Is this screen grab from a televised version? The mic-in-shot is nowhere to be found during this scene on the DVD. Was it digitally erased? It's on the DVDs, when Higgins says Jack "ap...

Re: Magnum on Blu Ray!
So from some selective "searching and viewing" of these episodes , I can determine that the episode lengths, etc. are the same as the UK DVDs, and commercial breaks are certainly not abridged. :D "L.A." and "The Man From Marseilles" are fully uncut, and in the case of "China Doll", its syncing...

Re: Birdman of Budapest (3.16)
Probably the best part for me in this episode was Higgins' run of bad luck, capped with having to deal with Elizabeth. It's downright criminal how that level of irritation for him mostly happened this one time in the series. I can only wonder just what was going through T.C.'s head when he saw...

Re: Misc. MPI Newspaper Articles
From what I can gather, most of these critics really seemed to hate the twist involving "La Boule", although in retrospect it was likely Magnum's "little voice". I guess in watching it myself, it's more obvious as the flashbacks with him were there from the beginning, and wouldn't have been there if...

Re: The Legacy of Garwood Huddle (5.4)
I noticed that Mr. Walters pointed this out early in this thread, but I just noticed while watching this episode today that Phil Hartman is voicing the narrative at the start of this episode. So fun. Another example of how I've been rewarded by giving Magnum another viewing. It's great how much he ...

Thought I'd post this here because this thread's more active, but guess who showed up in the season premiere of Mystery Science Theater 3000 alongside Wil "Shut up, Wesley!" Wheaton?
Totally fitting, in my opinion.

Re: Misc. MPI Newspaper Articles
Steve , given the negative reviews, it seemed like these critics were all burnt out from detective shows too! :P Thankfully, the show turned out to be much different than all the Columbo s and McMillan and Wife s. It seemed like Magnum and MTV really ushered in the era of "flashier" shows and chara...

Tom's poses here crack me up! These I'd sooner expect from Angela Lansbury for a lighter Murder, She Wrote promo. They really played up the comedy in promoting the pilot.Rembrandt's Girl wrote:

I can definitely imagine those! Surprisingly, they didn't work that "good with the ladies" angle that much with RJ in "Summer School".

This has probably been posted already, but here's a great appearance on Letterman around the series' midway point. Featuring a hilarious "Before/After" segment.

LMAO! What a scenario! All that's missing is Edie McClurg in an unspecified secretarial role. You're so right about Ken's height though. I never realized how tall he was until I saw pics of him and Carol Burnett at the 2016 SAGs. http://68.media.tumblr.com/4a80f2d4f207735ac2dc4686653d42...
