Re: Tales of the Gold Monkey

Discovered that Tales Of The Gold Monkey full episodes are free to watch on YouTube. Watching it again for the first time in 40+ years. Loved it as a 6 year old when it came out but the monkey suits, synthesizer soundtrack, pacing and dialog are a little hard to take now. And as a WWII history buff,...

Re: The new Quantum Leap

The second season made me reevaluate the series. It really found its stride in the second season. The breakup of Ben and Addison was the best thing for the series. The story ark of Ben’s relationship with Hannah through time was great. Lots of really strong episodes overall. Ended on an exciting cli...

It seems you were proved right sooner rather than later, with the disasterous pullout two years ago, and our seeming disregard for many of the Afghans who risked their lives to work with us.

Re: My new 1980s obsession

Nice collection of cartridges! I bought an Atari Flashback during lockdown. My kids were unimpressed with the tech, but I enjoyed playing old favorites like Frogger, Galaga, and especially Pitfall. I like that the joysticks are just like the ones that used to come on Atari systems, and the box look...

Not a series, Netflix released a feature length film starring Mark Wahlberg in 2020.

Re: Magnum Reboot CANCELED

I gave up on the reboot after the first few episodes, but still don’t understand the seeming joy by many on the forum at its cancellation. It didn’t like it, but apparently many did, including members of this forum. It seems a bit inconsiderate to post such glee in its cancellation. Agreed, once I ...

Re: Magnum Reboot CANCELED

Would not be at all surprised to learn that it gets picked up by one of the streaming channels/networks. Peacock has streaming rights to the episodes that aired on NBC, Paramount has streaming rights to the episodes that aired on CBS. Both of those streaming services' parent companies have passed o...

Re: Is the reboot cancelled again?

From what I have heard, the writers strike doomed the show. The show itself wasn't in need of a renewal right now because Season 5 has been split in 2, with the second half airing in 2024. The problem is, the cast's options expired on June 30, so NBC had three choices, in descending order of cost: 1...

Re: Is the Magnum legacy in danger due to reboot?

Yeah, agree on the Spenser reboot. There were some funny bits in it, but overall, it is something we've seen over and over many times before, and definitely not Urich's Spenser. This gets me thinking. We have the traditional private investigator genre, like Rockford Files and Simon and Simon, where ...

Re: Is the Magnum legacy in danger due to reboot?

Just like no matter how plays The Equalizer Edward Woodward will always be the first and the best to do it. Seriously! Queen Latifah as the Equalizer?? That's the dumbest thing I've ever come across. Is that show even still on? Or did it get cancelled already after a few episodes? I liked th...

Re: Recent Passing of Stars

I had no idea who Anthony James was, then I googled him and immediately said “oh THAT guy!” I have to admit I be never been a huge Clint Eastwood fan. I don’t hate him, but I don’t see him as the American treasure some people do. My favorite of his movies are Where Eagles Dare, Two Mules for Sister ...

Re: Recent Passing of Stars

The promos for the new Night Court (again, a continuation, not a “reboot” as it is often erroneously called) and all the great actors from the original series that aren’t with us anymore, most notably Harry Anderson, who the show was basically created for. If you find his book “Games You Can’t Lose:...

Re: The new Quantum Leap

I also liked the exorcism episode that was aired on Halloween, a great nod to "The Boogiem*n" that aired on October 26, 1990 (among Quantum Leap fans, it's considered bad luck to type out the full name of this episode, kinda like how actors always refer to Macbeth as "The Scottish Play.")

The new Quantum Leap

Anyone want to talk about the new version of Bellisario's other great masterpiece? I consider this a continuation rather than a reboot, since it is picking up where the original show left off, rather than new actors in the same characters with a brand new continuity like 5-0 or Magnum. I want to lik...
