You beat me to it! Yes, indeed, the esteemed Mr. Hillerman has reached the venerable age of **80.** How awesome is that? Salud! (raises glass)

I should watch a couple of my favorite Higgins-centric episodes, in celebration.

Okay, I watched the intro to this episode last night, and here's the deal. There are a number of cuts in the sequence-- Explosion and ball goes up Higgins weaving a bit, seen from behind Etc. --BUT-- From the shot on Higgins' face, where he says "bloody good shot," the camera pulls back as he falls,...

I had a lot of fun with this. And I was impressed in the opening sequence, when Higgins is hit by the croquet ball--he sways a bit, then falls backwards, and Magnum catches him and eases him to the ground. It sure looks like John Hillerman really did fall backward, and Tom Selleck really did catch ...

I just watched "Hands of a Murderer" this afternoon with the family, and I was expecting it to be truly awful, given the comments I've seen here. But while it's not the greatest movie I've ever seen, it wasn't *that* bad. The acting seemed to be well done, if the story was a bit telegraphed. My bigg...

http://www.facebook.com/TheRealLarryManetti This is his facebook page. It's pretty neat. He seems to upload and update quite often This is true--I friended his page some time ago, and he does regularly update it. This is a good thing for me, because I only rarely can catch the show, but I can keep ...

I emailed Larry as you suggested. I'll have to have a listen to see if he got around to my questions. Looking forward to it. I was listening, and I heard them read something from a "Magnum maniac" from Switzerland, about how utterly awesome it would be to have John Hillerman on the show--I thought ...

For the record, this is the coolest physical Magnum P.I. project I've seen. Now that my son has seen it he wants me to buy it...I tried to explain, but he insists that we can find it at a toy store. Love, love, love it! Thank you so much! I showed your comment to my son this morning and he was just...

ahhhhh found it! Fantastic. So how did you do the Higgins hair, with a small file? Amazing. How long did it take you? LOL, yes! I have a set of small files that I used to use for woodcarving in a previous life, when I was in the Society for Creative Anachronism. It didn't take that long, and then I...

You actually *made* some pieces?!?! Awesome! I couldn't spot the typewriter on the relatively small picture. Which one is it? I thought one of those roof slates would suit as a typewriter and then just draw some dots on the sloping side to serve as the keys... It was more *adapting* than making, re...
