A couple of things not mentioned is the traffic...try to stay off H1 from 0600 hrs to 0830 hrs going east into Honolulu and in the afternoon going west from Honolulu. You'll save hours by not sitting in H1's "parking lot" over the course of your visit. Diamond Head has been closed for a bit (my daug...

But I am an XL guy :( Aloha from paradise Bond...years ago I discovered that when I bought a shirt I liked and wore out, I could never find another just like it. So when I started buying the Magnum shirts from "Paradis...

Waipio US National Champs!!!!!! What a game against Japan in the World Series, too bad the boys came up a little short 4-1. Everyone is real proud of them for an incredible showing! I've been told the community is a real close knit bunch which is nice to hear! I hope they throw the boys a big party...

Re: Go Waipio L.L.

T.M. and T.C. would be very proud of the boys from Waipio, who just made it to the Little League National Championship Final Game! The game is on ABC tomorrow and if they win, they go to the World Series Final the next day. In 2008, they were the World Series Champs!! If anyone has a copy of their ...

Well, for all you folks ought to come over now and see the area in question. I see it all the time and will not comment further. Just come and see for yourself. I for one, Thor, appreciate your report and understand completely your concern over a private citizen's tampering with the people of Hawai...

Woah, easy Thor. I believe you. It was dredged. Never said it wasn't. If it's illegal to dredge, go for it. Prosecute to the full extent of the law. However, I can't say I see much harm done. Aren't the kids still able to swim there? Won't the sand make its way back up over time? If little kids are...

I fail to see why we all care so much about the sand level. So it's down now. I'm sure it will build back up again over time. I see no reason to alert the authorities or try to create drama over this. Just one man's opinion. Maybe I'm missing the boat on this. ??? First of all, we locals used this ...

Thor, are you sure this isn't just natural washing out from the waves? I remember a similar thread from a while ago where we were chatting about this very thing. Someone had posted photos that showed the foundation of the wall being visible because the sand had gotten so low. The sand must have bee...

Hi Thor, The thing that bothers me,if this was done to stop the MPI fans from taking pictures or worse case hopping the fence,it won't change a thing. The nuts will find a way to enter her property. Also if it was done for that reason.I'll exercise my rights. The sea wall is public property.I'll walk ...

Hi Thor, Thanks for the photos! It would be a real shame if that was the case. A question though - are you sure it was dredged? You can certainly see less sand from the pictures but could this just be seasonal erosion? I don't know the local conditions in Hawaii but at the beach where I live the am...

At one time, we were able to sit on the wall and have our feet touch the sand. It was about 2 foot high as you can tell in the last picture. Anna is 6 foot tall so can see the wall is close to 5 foot high now so in my mind she took out at least 3 feet of sand. The pictures I took was just after high...

Hi Thor..Question for you.If the beaches are public, how is it possible for Anderson to dredge the beach? I find it odd that she would spend the money on the beach when the rest of the place is a dump.Do you know when this was done? Here's a free photo hosting site.Once you upload your photos..copy ...

The Estate Tidal Pool and Beach

Well folks, if you haven't had the chance to enjoy the small beach at "Robin's Nest", it is gone. Eve Anderson, the owner, had the beach dredged and all the sand dumped in the tidal pool. A fair portion of the pool is now knee deep and the channel leading out to sea which used to be 9-10 feet deep i...
