Re: Season 5 Episode 20: The Big Squeeze (5.20)

I was late to the party on the reboot. I watched the first episode this last September (of 2023) after I had finished watching every episode of the original. Overall I thought the reboot was solid. A decent show and worth the time to watch it. I ended up watching every episode. I really liked that ...

Re: Season 5 Episode 9: Out of Sight, Out of Mind (5.9)

The whole two-parter at the end of this series was superb. Loved it, wish there were more like this!

Re: Season 5 Episode 4: NSFW (5.4)

I'd really like them to put a few of the reboot H50 characters back in this series, no idea if they will though.

Re: Raven

I finished watching 'The Exile' yesterday, with the episode 'The Girl from Brazil' which is a disturbing story about child porn. The show has all the facets of early 90s though: Jeffrey Meek in his suit, very slick production, saxophones in the opening titles, ladies in short skirts, guys in...

Re: Raven

The Exile is not available to stream anywhere as far as I know. You have a PM though about where to find some episodes.

Re: Raven

'Flori and Dori' was a poor one to go out on I thought, no spoilers on here of course. You're right about the mix of Majors & Meek. I listened to an interview with Jeffrey Meek the other day and he said 'Raven' became too homogenized i.e. too similar each week. He says explicitly they wanted more of...

Re: My new 1980s obsession

I have two of these, one permanently hooked up in my cellar. A friend of mine made me a box so I can link it to the TV using a SCART and/or S-Video connector to improve the picture quality. I love the 2600. Galaxian is probably my fave.

Re: Raven

Approaching the end of season 2 and have to confess, I like 'Raven'. For me the quality dips at the start of season 2 but it gets better by the 5th or 6th episode. Jeffrey Meek was born to play Jonathon Raven.. Incidentally, prior to this, Jeffrey Meek was in a shortlived show called 'The Exile' whi...

Re: Harry-O on Decades

Darrow. Personally I thought the change was unnecessary and I really do like Zerbe saying "orrrrwell" but Darrow wins, but only by a nose. Both great characters. I'm a bit of a closet DJ fan and have quite a few of his films which are always a good watch. Maybe we should merge the 2 Harry O threads.

Re: Raven

I just watched the first one 'The Return of the Black Dragon' - if you can manage to get past arguably the cheesiest 90s opening titles ever made, this was actually quite good fun and pretty enjoyable. There is only one major flaw in the slaw in this episode - when Ski protects the girl he ends up ...

And another with Redford would be Three Days of the Condor (1975)

I saw the recent 'Condor' TV series which I think is based on this. It was pretty good stuff.

Re: Obscure Movie Recommendations

I'm a bit late to this thread but I'm a bit of a fan US made-for-tv movies. I'd say anything action/thriller related with either David Jannsen or Robert Urich in it is worth a punt. Whether they are 'obscure' though is debatable... Some of my Jannsen faves: Warning Shot (1966), The Longest Night (1...
